Tried search but hee haw.

Lawrence Colburn at 67, main whistleblower in the Imperialist Mai Lai massacre during 'Nam.

Since youz don't remember it as you weren't there, obit here.

http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/lawrence-colburn-dies-helped-end-vietnams-lai-massacre-44226366

Less useful massacre during less useful war ever. Stupid imperialism.

Any instances of a useful massacre you can enlighten us with?

A very good question

Then again, if you called a dark psychedelic band: The Useful Massacre

I'd say that's a die-hard fan-base of gloomy types who barely leave the house already sorted.

Depends on definition of 'useful'. Most massacres are useful to those that do them.

I'd have thought focusing on the definition of massacre might be more pertinent.

Oh no not the former Mayor of Shreveport. Forget Bowie....
I guess my blocking doesn't work when someone comments on the blocked post--making it visible. Admins need to look into that. When I block something I don't want to see a single reference to it ever. Posts like this is why I blocked this fool--but moreso his remblings of the obvious and things that go without mentioning--that he has a Tourette's-like need to mention.

So knowing the blocking function isn't what it purports to be makes me sadder than all the denizens of Shreveport combined.

Here's a radical thought - if something pops up on your screen that you don't want to read, how about just not reading it?

Wow. It sounds like you're doing more blocking than the LA Rams' offensive line.

I've only ever blocked one person. Not sure where your information is coming from.

Rabbi Lionel was one of my subs somewhere for my 2017 teams - might even have been Deathrace.

That's Gill, Gabor (sub) and Blue (sub) all gone since last week on my various lists.

Rebecca Black, horse jockey dead at 39: http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/horseracing/2016/12/18/new-zealand-jockey-rebecca-black-dies-children/95585522/

Sadly it isn't the Rebecca Black we want to die.

I've never heard of anyone named Rebecca Black that I'd like to die, but I HAVE heard of the jockey thread--in fact I posted in it 48 hours ago, meaning it's on the first page of threads your browser pulled up.

Right here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rebecca_Black

She made that shit song Friday, and if you haven't, thank goodness you haven't because it's terrible

PS, you reported Gareth Thomas, not Rebecca Black, so you need to quit complaining about me for no reason. Like Lard said, if you don't want to see my posts, how about not reading them. That'll make you less annoyed, unless your just wanting to find reasons to complain about me, which I'm starting to think that's what you want to do...

OK, I might just admit that MPFC was on the right lines here. Though I hope he wasn't on his 2017 team.

That's crediting me with levels of organisation I haven't shown on next year's teams. He was in the talent pool along with Zsa Zsa so there's some adjustments to be made but we're not exactly short of potential carkers.

Yes, it should have been posted in the Horse Racing thread.

But like all deaths, it belongs in the current year thread as well. I have no problem with deaths being recorded in multiple threads where appropriate.

Thirdly, I am very uncomfortable with posters expressing wishes for people to die (with the obvious exceptions). It's not civilised and it's not funny.

Seen on the BBC Staff forums (it was mentioned on Facebook, on a private account afaik) - former TV director Martin Shardlow has died. Mention on Twitter here. Director of the first series of Smith and Jones and Only Fools and Horses, as well as Blackadder I.

Might be unlikely to ever see a proper obit given he's been dead over a week, but there's a note on here anyhow.

Part 1 of the BBC's Review - We Remember has just been on the News Channel (not up on iPlayer yet afaik).

One of our missing bods for the DDP, Isao Tomita was mentioned. No idea if his name will be in the strap. Unlikely I'd say.

Edit: Well it's up on iPlayer now, but not mentioned in the strap. So I don't think it counts. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b08746b3/review-2016-we-remember-part-one

I just learned that one of the people I had intended to use on my Deathrace team, Shahbaz Saleem, a senior RAF aircraft man, has passed away from cancer aged 28, before the starting line. Seemed to be such a nice guy. Wouldn't of gotten a DDP obit, but he was perfect deathrace material: http://www.burnleyexpress.net/news/brave-raf-serviceman-loses-cancer-battle-1-8301201
