Comped 529 Posted February 22 18 hours ago, The Daredevil said: Latest update "Despite being impeccably dressed in heels and with manicured nails, Pru is noticeably frail and needs help to walk. Her fading hearing, even with a couple of aids in – she describes them as her ‘ears’ – means she struggles to follow conversation. But she now also has the detached, unfocused air of someone who has progressed to the more advanced stages of vascular dementia." Despite the title making it sound like her husband is having mental issues of his own, apparently he has a sound memory and just can't keep up with all the grandchildren they keep finding they have. Can't really blame them considering I don't even remember her all of the names of my first cousins let alone anything past that!
Deathrace 1,171 Posted May 16 Pictured with Queen Camilla today. She's beginning to look very confused but still looks pretty good for a nonagenarian who has had dementia for twenty plus years.

Both could easily pass for ten years younger than they both are.
Ulitzer95 12,642 Posted September 3 New interview with The Times with new pics. Discusses her marriage. Still working as she said retirement would bore her. Ain't dying this year. May even outlive husband Timothy West, 89, at this rate. Scales is a lesson for DeathList – unless you know the type of dementia affecting the subject then don't put them on the list. Scales was officially diagnosed with vascular dementia in 2014, but was showing symptoms of it as far back as 2001. It really isn't as quick to progress as other forms such as Alzheimer's. 7
Lafaucheuse 4,051 Posted September 3 She even looks and sounds better than some 92 yo without dementia would. I bet she’ll Stay in the list until she goes now, it’s too risky at that age. Glad she won’t be a hit soon though.

She’s pre-recorded a voiceover as Queen Victoria when she’s old, and they’ll play the audio during the play. She’s not appearing on stage.

It's just over her 400th time playing Queen Vic since 1979. This one's now at the Edinburgh festival. It still sounds impressive I think for someone who showed signs of dementia before I was born. Most would expect her to take a minute to say a syllable.

Speech isn’t usually affected with dementia until the very end, its memory. Parroting a few lines after someone next to you says them, or reading them off a sheet ain’t groundbreaking stuff, even for a dementia sufferer. William Russell appeared in Doctor Who even after he was totally away with it. Nonetheless, I would favour dropping her next year for someone in a worse condition.
