He seems to go on and on and on, have his latest CD, very good except his voice is deepening and slowing to such an extent it's like playing a single at 33 rpm. Great for black dog days. He has a thing about the word "naked" that I don't quite understand. Anyway not for a while I wouldn't have thought. I'm sure Canadian Paul will have a view. Must go and play it again..... Phantom 2,533 Posted January 10, 2006 Godot, "Dear Heather" is a unusual album, Cohen's lyrics get stranger and stranger as the years pass by. I went to see him at the Royal Albert Hall back during his "I'm Your Man" tour. I think I was the youngest person there. His son Adam has some good stuff out. I quite like Adam's debut album. I've always thought that Cohen's slowing down was more of a personal choice than a health issue. He'll be around for a while I think, something that I'm rather ambivilent about. Gordon Lightfoot is the Canadian balladeer that you want to keep your eyes on... he's gone through a spell of health troubles lately, serious ones at that. It's enough to make you depressed! On a separate note VINEGER TITS if you're lookin' in does your grasp of German rock extend to a detailed of the incident below. I've heard various accounts, some of which suggest it never happened. I'm inclined to believe it did. Gunther Dietz - Died 8 or 9-?-1997 ( Heavy Metal ) He dove off the stage during a concert, the crowd moved away and he smashed onto the concrete floor. The 74-year-old became ill during a concert in Valencia and was taken to hospital as a precaution. He has now been discharged and is said to have had food poisoning. Cohen was in the middle of singing his Bird On The Wire song in Valencia when he fainted, prompting the band to stop playing and rush to help him. The Canadian singer was treated first by stadium medical staff and then taken by ambulance to a local hospital. He was given the all-clear in the early hours of Saturday. A band member told the crowd Cohen had suffered stomach cramps and vomiting fits. His concert organisers say the final date of the Spanish tour will go ahead in Barcelona on Monday. Despite his morose songs he has a wicked sense of humour and we were laughing all through the gig. I'd like to see him last more than 5 years but even if he doesn't the pun potential is massive.
