Come on now, I assumed there was a lickle bit of intelligence here...... Yes, she will probably die this year, it will be a sudden deterioration and something like pneumonia that will end her life but, for the moment, make up asides, she does not appear to be any closer to departing than a few months ago or summat. I don't think she looked or sounded as someone in death's door. Sure, she was gaunt (and fairly pale), but she has never been fat. I think she might not be the first hit of the year, but it's only mid-January, so I don't think people picking her on the DDP should be particularly worried. That being said, the American Cancer Society does have 5-year-survival statistics for stage IV patients (that might also be a bit more recent than cancerresearchuk.org's statistics from 2002-2006). Assuming she has Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (because she claimed her cancer was not caused by smoking according to her doctors): NSCLC that has spread to other parts of the body is often hard to treat. The 5-year survival rate for stage IVA NSCLC is about 10%, and for stage IVB the 5-year survival rate is less than 1%.
