Thoughts On The 2017 List

Recommended Posts

Yes, in 2012 - Megrahi and Gibb. But otherwise, back in 2002, so almost historical by Deathlist standards.

Actually there's just been a bit of deathlist history made. This is  the first time there's been 3 or more  hits on 2 consecutive months

So, 14 weeks left of the year to break the record...I reckon there's another 4 left in this list, leave alone 2.

Would it be OTT for me to predict there will be 20 hits by  dec 31 ?

So we need 7 to die to get the record so here is my assessment of the 14 most likely to die

1)Jerry Lewis (Heart problems dating back to 1960 as well as many gealth problems. Now has difficulty swallowing following an infection:Been very quiet these past few weeks)

2)Tony Booth (Advanced Alzheimers COPD and congestive heart failure and still smoking)

3)Gord Downie (Now 20months into a glioblastoma diagnosis which is above average.Been quiet again recently.

4)Nobby Stiles (End stage alzheimers dating back well over a decade. In a nursing home and seems close to death according to son. Also has prostate cancer and several strokes.

5)Leah Bracknell (11 months into stage 4 lung cancer and reliant on quack medicine for several months.Nearly died from a build up of fluid on heart last year.)

6)Jake LaMotta (Extremely elderly frail and in a nusing home now.Has had heart problems too)

7)King Michael (Two types of cancer frail but stable but at nearly 96 and a lot of time in hospital things can only get worse)

8)HermanWouk(Exceptionally old wheelchair bound and reliant on oxygen tank.)

9)Jill Gascoigne (Had Alzheimers and has been a nursing home for about 3.All reports seem bleak)

10)Liz Dawn (Had emphysema nearly 15 years is wheelchair bound has heart problems and is prone to pneumonia.Very quiet since heart surgery in June)

11)Valerie Harper (Has metastatic lung cancer in the meninges.Been dying for 4 and a half years but no recent update.)

12)Leslie Philips (Had a serious stroke 2 years ago.Wheelchair bound and nearly died from a seizure a while back.)

13)George H W Bush (Has a form of parkinsons and keeps getting a recurrent lung infection.)

14)Bruce Forsyth (Not been seen orphotographed since 2015 when he had anerysm surgery. At 89 such a slow recovery can't be a good sign)

Seems plausible half will go by December 31st.Even if not still a lot of over 90s on this list.Still achievable.

2/14 in 4 days.

5 down, 2 to go !

This is the best chance to set a new record of hits.  If it doesnt happen this year, I reckon it wont happen for quite a while

Robert Mugabe played a milkman who caught Audrey Roberts' eye in a 1996 three-episode arc.

Yeah, with more than 3 months left to get 2 hits, and a ton of ill people still on there, it's practically impossible not to beat it at this point.

With Liz Dawn going, and Bracknell and Downie still on the clock, the list would be highly unfortunate not to equal the record now.

Yeah, just to reiterate this...

Double down on it, I believe the Americans like to put it.

Whoever gets the list to #15 will be a legend.

I think it will be a Deathlist legend. Like Olivia or Kirk.

Full odds:

Kirk Douglas: very very old, suffered a heart attack 20 years ago. He would be the biggest DL death of the year and it seems likely. 60%

Vera Lynn: old, but in good health. Not likely, would be a fair surprise. 30%

Billy Graham: He's clearly beyond human survival for Parkinson's. Really likely. 70%

Lord Carrington: Old, but in fair shape. Not likely. 30%

Prince Philip: yes, he had some health problems recently, but it is too early for him. 33%

Denis Norden: Advanced maculopathy and frail health. Almos a dead cert. 75%

Pierre Cardin: Only old, no issues here. 30%

Stan Lee: He lost his wife and had a pacemaker fitted, but again it seems just too early. However, 45%

Olivia de Havilland: Excellent health. 20%

Herman Wouk: Respiratory issues and incredibly old. Really likely. 70%

Bob Dole: Still hospitalized for low pressure, his health is rapidly declining. Likely 60%

Leah Bracknell: Off treatment since March, almost impossible to survive though she's actually pretty tough. 80%

Jimmy Carter: Overcame cancer and is in excellent health. Not likely. 25%

Gord Downie: Glioblastoma does not forgive, but he seems to be in relatively good shape. Still 65%

Leslie Phillips: Having suffered from multiple strokes, he could go at any moment. 65%

Robert Mugabe: Oh, no. This man will never die. 15%

Javier Perez de Cuellar: Old and wheelchair bound. It would be a deliverance for DL. 50%

King Michael: leaukaemia and skin cancer, widow and 96. Why still here? 80%

Betty White: Immortal. 10%

Nobby Stiles: Advanced dementia and prostate cancer. A matter of months and he will be a hit. 85%

Queen Elizabeth II: fake alarm last December. She's gonna bury most of us. 12%

Jill Gascoine: Advanced Alzheimer's. Could be a surprise hit. 55%

Bob Barker: Suffered a nasty fall, but he's still in good shape and NE guaranteed him other three years of life. 30%

Doug Ellis: No health issues at all. 25%

George Bush Senior: Pneumonia, on the mend, pneumonia, on the mend, exc. Likely, but not too much. 55%

Honor Blackman: No health issues. 20%

Ian St. John: Advanced prostate cancer, but he is in good health otherwise. Not likely. 30%

Hugh Hefner: Only bullshit about him. No health issues. 30%

David Prowse: Overcame prostate cancer and has dementia. Likely. 55%

Sandy Gall: No health issues. 25%

Hosni Mubarak: An incredible medical history, he has been near death for five years. Has a good possibilty to go this year and that would not be bad for DL and the world. 50%

Desmond Tutu: Urinary problems last year, but he overcame that. 40%

Akihito: He's not in very good health, but he's young for DL standards and still has some years left in him. Oh, and he is a Jap. 15%

Gay Byrne: Prostate cancer, but not so serious. 35%

Valerie Harper: Metastatic cancer, could be near death right now or on the mend, who really knows. 50%

Benedict XVI: 90 year old in good health without notable health issues. Not Likely. 30%

Fats Domino: No health issues  for this legendary DL bedblocker. 25%

Record will be destroyed.
