Well he did write a track called 'Radio 4'.

Their two hits were derivations of Eddie & the Hot Rods and the Clash respectively, but a couple of cracking singles nonetheless.

It was all downhill after he was outed as really being called Nicky Waitrose.

Yeah, but... it ain't like The Clash or Eddie and the Hot Rods were completely original, is it?

Aye, perfect way to end a radio show celebrating the dead of the year - playing No More Heroes

Saw him right up to the end - when the band had replaced him but he still came out for a few numbers

Think I actually now have a TOTP team hit.

Sad news.

Unbelievably, in 1986, the Stranglers only crept into #30 on the singles chart with possibly my favourite of their 80s hits Always The Sun, and wouldn't have charted again until 1988.

Please please please @gcreptile and @Death Impends, can the header for my theme team and the description of my theme team in the league now be changed from 1985 to 1986, even at this late stage.

No longer hanging around.

Sad news about the powerhouse in a great band and - eek - a DDP hit for me.

I had him pencilled in for next year.

Saw The Stranglers many times back in the day. Saddened by this.

I've seen them a few times too.  Always a great night.

JJ used to say they'd carry on until Jet couldn't play any more, but they did go on without him and who would have guessed that Dave would go first.

I can do it when I'm back from holiday, i.e. in a week.

Guess for next year we need to keep in mind which info is very year-specific.

Keeps my record of at least one hit off this team a year.

Looking at my possibles for next year, hoping for around 6 or 7.

Wattie (i.e. the voice of The Exploited) fell ill on stage in Columbia and needed medical treatment. Planning to come home soon, otherwise social media is saying nowt.
