I'm not MK either you fucking numbskull, how hard is it for you to understand that a site like this has the capacity to attract more than a few nutters/trolls/losers over the years?
maryportfuncity 10,646 Posted January 30, 2018 So, I'm guessing this is DDP points for the Paul Alcock pickers, then: BBC: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42871581
RadGuy 1,614 Posted January 30, 2018 20 Hits No Problem is currently at 55 points with 6 hits after the Alcock-Olivera double whammy.

Interesting, because if s/he'd called the team "Six Hits in January, No Problem" we'd likely have heaped good natured abuse on that name.
gcreptile 10,972 Posted January 30, 2018 Alcock's death elevates quite a few could-be contenders to real contenders. He was a bit of a blind spot for me. Instead of Johnny Hubbard my B-team should have had him or Armfield.

Death Impends 7,975 Posted January 30, 2018 Yeah, Alcock was never really on my mind. I took the view he was in the "cancer is serious, but could be kept under control for a long time" camp.
msc 18,465 Posted January 30, 2018 The stats suggested he was in trouble, but I decided to go on gut feeling. Anyhow, you live and learn (unless you are Mr Alcock, of course).
Joey Russ 7,227 Posted January 30, 2018 Even if I thought Alcock was going to die, I still wouldn’t have picked him in the DDP, as there’s only a certain amount of 8 pointers you can pick before you go overboard. I’ve been deadset on picking Tsvangirai since November, and Mark E Smith was just way too interesting for me to miss...
Sean 6,327 Posted January 30, 2018 Alcock was 2 on my subs list and at the start of play was number 1.Didnt make the team on age grounds.I already had McCain Zarin Newton_ John Conway and Cryne on my main team and I didn't want to many over 60s on the team.Tsvangirai snuck on after Garner died. Joey Russ 7,227 Posted January 31, 2018 Is it just me, or do I notice a scoreboard update without the actual DDP update?

It's something I'm experimenting with, updating the scores as and when and doing frontpage updates once a week/fortnight. Any thoughts from the crowd?
Youth in Asia 1,087 Posted January 31, 2018 Definitely an improvement to do it like that.
msc 18,465 Posted January 31, 2018 I like it, and support it, providing it's not more hassle and effort to do it this way of course.
Spade_Cooley 9,526 Posted January 31, 2018 It's really not, it's the same amount of work just spread over a different amount of time. I'm trying to streamline a lot of the DDP process because, I think, in future we'll be seeing a lot more two/three-year gamerunner stretches, rather than TMIB's marathon run, so I'm looking at ways that the game can be easily turned over to another person. msc 18,465 Posted January 31, 2018 Ah, 100% support then. And yes, 2-3 year stretches seems the best. Although, as TMIB is a Doctor Who fan, perhaps he was cursed, being the 4th game runner. (The 4th Doctor Who, Tom Baker, wound up in the role far longer than anyone else and it would have driven him mad if he weren't already Tom Baker and thus nuttier than squirrel shit...)
