I just noticed that there are only three teams with unique hits among the current top 100, The Love Boat, DI's B-Team and someone who picked both Dennis Edwards and Hannah Hauxwell.

There’s a few more than that. 20 Hits No Problem has Edgar Ray Killen as unique, while someone else has Graeme Langlands as a unique, and a sixth team has Bill Lucas. But yeah, it’s certainly smaller than usual...

Yes, already edited it.

Those two unique hits are mine. Unfortunately I’ve only a couple of other uniques, and one of those is a gamble.

I think there's a good chance my B Team ends up with the most unique hits this year. Of the three still living, I'm pretty sure Bruce Lietzke (glioblastoma) and Budi Tek (pancreatic cancer) are dying this year but obitability is uncertain, especially on the latter... I think Jalal Mansur Nuriddin is a likely obit but not sure what type of cancer he has.

My B Team currently has 0 hits, though a few of them are probably goners still (Jose (despite probably not dying as soon as expected, still think he’s a goner), Lorimer, Obayashi, and Tapie to be precise). Though I truly believe that it intention is to be a risky team of interesting people is still true to its nature...

Right, I think that's every bio written and every image uploaded, except for a couple that have fell through the cracks that I'm going to tidy up. Will do check-overs of old bios next, catch up on any outdated references (Obama's bio still saying he was president, f'rinstance). As for front page, getting the Theme Team running and linking back to previous months is next, which shouldn't be too troublesome.

A few of the C names I submitted are still missing.  Do you want me to send them again?

Also I must have missed Noel Duggan, unless he's been recently added.

Ray Wilkins may yet turn out to be a costly miss on this one

Nobody has him despite a history of alcohol abuse and the record of some ex-footballers in that dept

Couple of errors I noticed in the 'Angela of Death' team:

- The DUP founder Peter Robinson should actually be the popstar Marilyn. In all circumstances, really, but particularly in the Derby Dead Pool. Marilyn's real name is Peter Robinson – presumably he was entered as that because of the database's aversion to mononyms, and he got lost in translation.

- The picture in Pete Gilbey's bio is actually of his son, George Gilbey. Pete Gilbey looks like this.

(Also – and I'm sure this is an error it was submitted with – I'm not sure Pete Gilbey's name is actually Pete Gilbey. They're known as the Gilbey family, but some sources call him Pete McGarry.)

Changing the picture without changing the bio was the best possible outcome here, and I hope it stays like that.

Might do the same with the John Prescott confusion as well tbh.

Anyone else thinking that this is going to be one of the slower years in the DDP? As in the big wave doesn’t happen till closer to the mid to end part of the year?

I never think much about it at all.

Last "major" pick to die was Vanessa Goodwin. I'm glad I cashed my joker early and I did not choose Marieke Vervoort, but my last hit was Liam Miller with a whole team of terminal cancer sufferers. If this is not a drought....

It'll come when it comes. This forum has lots of threads dedicated to individuals, all with the dead tag on them, full of badly dating posts about how if they've lasted X amount of time, surely they must be on the mend or defying cancer, etc etc.

2 years to the month Bob Ellis, Howard Marks, Jock Scot and Jenny Diski died.

3 years to the month Robert Schuller, Ion Trewin, Richie Benaud, Lauren Hill, Percy Sledge, Francis George, and Colin Bloomfield died.

4 years to the month Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Sandy Jardine and Tito Vilanova died.

5 years to the month Karen Muir, Jack Pardee, Annette Funicello, Anne Williams died.

And so on.

Other than pointing out April is the cruelest month for non-DDP players, the one thing all of them have in common is they were at one point oft-mentioned DDP picks on this forum, and some of them seemed to go on forever. Yet, blink of an eye, and they've been gone for years. That's life. It'll be the same for any pick you can think of, in time. And indeed, all of us.

@Spade_Cooley Mitzi Shore’s bio says she was born in 1925 when in actuality she was born in 1930. Hope you can fix that small bit I noticed.

He's dead? RIP. He must be in heaven, surrounded by all those dead people. No pun intended.

Ta. Telegraph does as suggested then!

Fascinating character, too, the type I find more interesting in your average deadpool than some of the more obvious picks.

Is there a database behind the DDP webpage with picks from all previous years? Just wondering how people are picking up on these List of the Lost sort of picks? Is there any way to tag a first time pick as a New Entry or something?
