Ideas and Possibilities for 2019

Recommended Posts

Marilyn Horne's cancer was a decade ago, so unlike the rest of that list to my knowledge inactive for many years.  Probably safe to say Ginsburg ain't living with pancreatic cancer presently.  Can't speak to Remigino, have never heard of or seen that name til today (and I thank you).

Remigino (who as a 2 time Olympic gold medalist, is a cert QO) is currently suffering from pancreatic cancer, and would have been on my DDP team this year, only DDT went and named him, so he wouldn't have been unique. He is on DDT's team though, which is usually a bad sign for anyone wanting to live much longer...

I won't be able to get Stephen Fry on my list quick enough, although I expect he's exaggerating it

I think he is not in immediate danger and he has waited for the outcome to share this.

Well he's not going to take it lying down.

I don't know whether you want to move these across.

He probably deserves his own thread.

Seriously, the prognosis for prostate cancer is not that bad at all. 84% of patients survive 10 years from diagnosis. http://www.cancerresearchuk.org/health-professional/cancer-statistics/statistics-by-cancer-type/prostate-cancer/survival

No way he's on the list.

He is not on the list yet, but whether or not he'd be in the future depends mostly on whether the cancer would return (and spread). By the way, even though prostate cancer is rarely a death sentence, the prognosis might be worse if the cancer is high grade or if it has spread.

In Fry's case, we know a lot of details – and while some of these suggest a favourable prognosis (no distant metastases, all apparent cancer was successfully resected), others might be worrying (the cancer appears to have been locally advanced – 11 lymph nodes were removed along with his prostate; high grade/aggressive tumour – was given a Gleason score of 9 out of 10).

Cancers with Gleason scores of 8 to 10 may be called poorly differentiated or high-grade. These cancers are likely to grow and spread more quickly, although a cancer with a Gleason score of 9-10 is twice as likely to grow and spread quickly as a cancer with a Gleason score of 8.

Watching The Galaxy Britain Built, a BBC doc about Star Wars shown at Christmas. Robert Watts, the original film's production supervisor (and co-director at points), is interviewed for it, and was looking/sounding rather rough tbh. 80 in May, and given his CV is basically James Bond, Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Roger Rabbit, he'll piss a QO as and when he goes.

Well ok there's also THIS article from this week saying 'Bart Starr recommends blah blah blah'  by a letter he sent.
He didn't send shit.  Bart Starr Enterprises sent the letter, and again it is signed by his wife Cherry.  So this week we see he can't sign his name and can't make a phone call.
I'm telling you, Bart Starr won't see Sir Creep's birthday in June.

January 9th video of Starr’s 84th birthday.  You decide.

My 2015 Shadow List is "lost in the mists of time", but I do remember some names from it.

Two survivors, I think, are underrated as deadpool picks and I'd like to bring them up.

1) Sitcom actress Marla Gibbs.

She's turning 87 this summer and looks frail.

She's very well-known in the US for her roles in 'The Jeffersons' and '227'. Yes, non-Americans, that means she's a Daily Mail cert (at the very least).

2) Former Governor of Illinois, George Ryan.

He recently turned 84.

He spent several years in jail because, well, duh, he's an Illinois politician!

If the name George Ryan sounds familiar, it's because his wife, Lura Lynn, died of cancer in 2011 and was a popular deadpool pick that year.

Speaking of which, here's her gem of a DDP description:

Quote

Terminally ill wife of convicted former Governor of Chicago, George Ryan.

:D

Can't judge though. We Yanks ain't good at British geography either (or any geography, for that matter).

If you're in a mood for a gamble:

Australian fashion designer Gary Bigeni has lymphoma:

https://www.pedestrian.tv/news/gary-bigeni-cancer-fight/

First round of chemo didn't work. Second, more aggressive round is upcoming.

He got a Daily Mail mention in 2017 and a Guardian mention in 2015, though only as part of a fashion show. And you can't participate in a fashion show when you're dead.

Dunno — He could develop a CorpseWear line and be the first model.
