Hello

This is my first ever post. I would like to nominate the former mercenary and British soldier Colonel 'Mad Mike' Hoare.

He's led an extraordinary and fascinating life, you can read all about him on Wikipedia.

We've all got to go sometime of course but Mike Hoare will celebrate his 101st birthday if he survives until March 17th 2020.

Won't see his 101st as he's just died.

It's still 2019 in California for almost 6 and a half hours, so I wanted to get this on the record, somewhere.  Here is my Top 50 List for 2020, so read 'em and weep...

Just for some housekeeping, I wanted to put my 2020 Top 50 as my signature, and I saw here that I accidentally listed Fujimori twice, and omitted Pope Benedict, so I added him to the list on my sig.  Carry on.

Apparently Doreen Mantle will be one of the sitters in Sky Arts' "Portrait Artist Of The Year", which starts on Tuesday (21 Jan).

So we will have ample time to observe!

Apparently she's scheduled for episode 4, along with Asim Choudhry and Russell Tovey.

Mrs Warboys  Doreen Mantle duly sat for her portrait.  She seemed a little frail and needed assistance to walk across the studio, but she explained that her eyesight has deteriorated to the point where she can only see shapes and colours so that may be the main reason she needed help.  Otherwise she said she was very well, and she is certainly still in possession of all her marbles.  :)

It was a good idea and definite possibility...

AE Hotchner dies aged 102.

Aye, well...gained me no points, who else had Hotchner on any team?

I have tried to encourage a more varied list of submissions from others by trying to introduce a points system similar to the DDP, but to no avail.

My father-in-law still insists on just picking anyone over 100. It used to work in his favour. Although he hasn't won for over 10 years.
