Bentrovato 1,088 Posted April 11, 2020 Seems like the BBC have their own version of this sickest game on the go: US death figures have not overtaken Italy You may have read in the last half an hour that the US has now overtaken Italy to become the country with the most coronavirus-related deaths worldwide, according to Johns Hopkins University. This does not yet appear to be the case. It comes down to when figures are reported. As the figures from the US came in first, it seemed that the US had overtaken Italy with 18,860 confirmed deaths. But now new figures have come in from Italy - taking its number well above 19,000, although Johns Hopkins is yet to reflect that in its count. All this is complicated further because not all the latest figures are in from the US - so be prepared for the possibility of the US overtaking Italy later on. Of course, this is a tragedy for both countries.

Does anyone else here mentally insert the word 'reported' between 'coronavirus-related' and 'deaths'?

YoungWillz 21,046 Posted April 12, 2020 These figures aren't including community deaths. Government suppressing the daily figures, expect a huge jump mid-week. How many folk who live on their own will be discovered dead in their homes for weeks or months after this? While millionaire Blibberwimble took the NHS bed.
