You're missing the past. What once started as a topic discussing possible deaths evolved in one disussing actual deaths as well. No mod could be arsed to change the title. On a more personal note: I don't particularly like it when a newbie member vents opinions on forum organisation. There's nothing wrong with pointing out mistakes, but don't overdo it and do it politely. DON'T SHOUT! I can't speak for other mods, but little pisses me off more than being told what to do by a newbie.

242 posts and a fair percentage are fucking whinges. Shut the fuck up, the forum has been this way for years, or fuck off. Nobody is forcing you to remain.

I met and chatted with the late and lamented Mr Beadle a couple of times and was mightily impressed. The context was meeting at Fortean Times Unconventions - i.e. conferences on all manner of paranormal stuff - and Beadle had amassed a massive private library of tomes on the various topics under discussion, something he could hold forth on with authority and a fair degree of insight and humour. I always thought he was a bit of a cunt, but if you rate him then he must be at least half a good egg. I've met loads of motorbike riders, but nobody will know who I'm on about so I won't bother listing them. If their moto gp riders i might! Other disciplines are inferior. I wholeheartedly disagree. You are saying that people that ride the TT, or even the British Superbike Championship, are inferior to MotoGP riders? Sidecar racers are inferior? Have you ever watched any of the other disciplines? Please take a moment to rethink your post, and feel free to come back and admit that it was a ridiculous statement to make.

No you don't get points for that. Find proof that he did some Morris dancing or was in a panto and a raft of points will be yours...

The ardent pedant often falls. Reminds me of when Nerina Pallot seems to have sung, "Safire, Safire, his typo is higher". That joke is dead obscure and not funny, but I'm proud of it. Seriously, what the fuck is this a reference to? William Safire and the content of his columns: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Safire William Safire's high typo. And Nerina Pallot's song Sophia, which sounds pronounced more like Safire, malapropally speaking. I didn't claim it was a good joke. Nowt wrong with a tad of intellectual humour!

SC, do you actually know what you're talking about or are you just being a total cunt for the sake of it? Wilko had his pancreas and spleen removed along with part of his stomach, large and small intestines. And his tongue! Dont forget his tongue! ........ oh wait, that was just in Game Of Thrones. Carry on.

Did you post in Deaths of 2015 like you are supposed to as well? I posted two suicides yesterday it would be nice to see the trend continue SC The question of where to post a specific death also confused me at the beginning. I've decided to only post in the "Deaths of 20xx" thread when it's hard to categorize the person or when a category for that person doesn't exist, or if I have nothing else to say about the death of that person except for the fact itself, which I try to avoid however. It should go in both. To not put every single death in the Dead of 2015 voids the forum entirely. So cuss of you and your ilk we gotta search 5 dozen forums. Gracias. That makes sense. Pfft SC If you that bothered about it make a master post detailing every death ever mentioned anywhere on the site... or you could just google your potential picks.

The only people who will be convicted for historical offences against children are those without power and influence. You will not see any retired senior politicians being convicted or even tried at court. The reason being, they know too much to be allowed to ever appear in court and the possibility of them naming names is unacceptable to the establishment. These convictions of minor celebrities from the entertainment industry are a side show designed to distract public attention from the abuses of the people in power.

It's obvious: the contestants from other planetary systems can't afford the trip. There are rumours that an inhabitant of Gliese 876 d, a race of shapeshifters, did actually take part in the 2006 Miss Universe contest, posing as Miss Ethiopia. He didn't impress the jury.

FFS, I can't get that into a single post. Hung around those circles in a serious manner for many years, less involved of late because the uncontrolled expansion of t'internet has spread the audience far and wide and opened the whole shebang up more than ever to paranoid conspiracy theorists on the very edge of sanity, and beyond, and those willing to follow them. The net result being that the paid writing jobs I enjoyed back in the day are now few and far between and my talents have been hawked elsewhere. My main involvement was in UFO and related research/writing and I'd say I learned two major things over that time. 1 - The most fruitful and interesting area of study regarding UFOs concerns the people involved in the whole business and the motives and mental states that take them there. During my time of strong involvement there was lots of progress in that area of understanding whilst the cases under investigation kept throwing up the next "big one" that would convince the world (only to crash and burn under serious investigation). Said big ones included the Botswana sky crash, Manhatten Transfer abduction case and the UK's infamous alien autopsy movie. 2 - There are a handful of corking cases, genuine jaw-droppers, that continue to defy mundane explanation, but such cases are very few and far between. I'd hold up the Tehran inciident (1976) as one such. Rant over!

My candidate nr. 2, Irving Kahn, is dead: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/nytimes/obituary.aspx?pid=174256165 That's the only obituary I could find so far. It's a "paid death notice" in the New York Times. Not sure if that counts... probably not. But a couple of guys in the DDP picked him as well, so we'll see if something better comes up. It's apparently a unique hit for me, I don't know if Kahn ever did Morris dancing or if he died by bongo.

Stephen Fry. Because I outright admire the man and his honesty. Even though he isn't ill per-se, his bi-polar has driven him close before now. So no, no relation, but wouldn't pick him even if he did become ill. I can never keep track of the threads around here, but if there isn't one for this Deathray, it's a good candidate for its own place imo. Some conversation to be had there methinks.

Feel like enough time has passed for me to admit that I was very close to picking my uncle on this year's DDP (he'd get a local BBC radio mention no problem) but backed out at the last minute because that would probably have been too much even for me.

Three-time Lakeside third-rounder Steve Douglas, who had a heart attack in 2012 and was told by his doctor to avoid stressful situations as they'd probably kill him, has won a PDC tourcard. I'm sure the irregular low pay, lengthy travel schedule and chances to lose in straight sets in a Poole leisure centre to "Big" John Henderson will be a wonderful boost to his health.
