Whilst it was enjoyable enough watching PSG progress last night against the odd/referee , it was made even sweeter with that bawbag Terry marking his own man at the winning goal

He has his own thread, so there's no need to mention him here. I still think it's a pity that this thread isn't inclusive. It should be a useful reference tool, but as things stand, it isn't. It's a discussion thread; not meant to be a reference tool Says who? YOU? Your sentence is completely the opposite of the truth. SC Whatever your mind is telling you, this really is a discussion thread, meaning that people can come along and post about someone who has died, while others are free to engage in discussion about the deceased person, abuse "guest", occasionally wander off topic, etc. However, SHOUTING isn't encouraged. You appear to have various firmly held beliefs on how this site should be run. Just wondering, but have you ever considered setting up a forum, or even a reference tool, of your own? It would be a glorious opportunity for you to impose your strange ideas about posting etiquette on others and have things exactly as you'd like them. I only ask because, based on the available evidence, I don't think anyone here is complying with your various demands?

He had the tweet already written and as he collapsed to the ground, his head hit the "send" button. Obviously a big miss for the list. I wasn't aware that his health was bad enough to lead to such an early death. "Early onset-Alzheimers" can't be that bad alone, or can it? I've never read one of his books, but always wanted to. I've never known where to start... It doesn't really matter but the earlier ones tend to be better. Mort is often a good place. The Colour of Magic isn't unless you are obsessive about reading them in order. Wyrd Sisters is ano her good starting point. My fav is Masquerade. This one has really knocked the breath out of me.

ISIS now killing the enemies within: https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/news/middle-east/17435-isis-executes-one-of-its-sharia-judges One of their judges, Abu Jaafar Al-Hattab, was killed for diverging from the core ideology. He was too "takfiri".

This one is rather sad. Something else must be at play here cuz less than a year from diagnosis to death from ALS in a 63 year old seems quick. Anyways, RIP. SC I've read that the younger you are at the time of the diagnosis, the better is your prognosis. So Stephen Hawking has a normal life span, Joost van der Westhuizen is hanging on for now, and Richard Glatzer died relatively quickly.

I'm going to see Motorhead (and the Stranglers) at the Eden Project in Cornwall in June. It will be odd hearing speed metal in a tropical biome, but I look forward to studying the form. I wonder if Lemmy will take the heat and humidity in to account before deciding how big his dose of amphetamines should be.

Hasn't the Eurovision Song Contest become a parody of itself these days? A parody of itself? Maybe that's a bit too strong. But nowadays, the winners would rarely embark on a huge international career in the music industry, like ABBA had done in the heyday of the contest. Electro Velvet might get some points for its novelty value (strange genre: electric swing) and Bianca has an interesting background story with her cystic fibrosis, but I doubt that these will be enough for a podium. On a positive note, they can't do much worse than Jemini... The Common Linnets haven't been doing too poorly at all after coming 2nd last year; platinum album in NL and Austria, gold in Germany, very respectable chart placings for the album and single in various parts of the globe. Re: Jemini - yes, being ignored by 25 countries is bad enough, Electro Velvet being ignored by 26 countries this year is still a real possibility.

I think we should set some kind of monthly roller pool up (pick 5-10 celebs to go within the month with the proviso any left over from last month have to be kept and score based on what number death they are that month - earliest highest). I'd do but i can barely run one pool

Having previously worked in the computer department of a national news organisation (we all need money sadly), I can confirm your feeling is not without some foundation.

Here's what the article says TV legend MARY TYLER MOORE spends her sad last days in the grip of dementia, her few lucid moments are spent deciding on her resting place while being reminded of the tragic deaths of her loved ones! With most of her affairs now in order, Mary is left with making the gut-wrenching and difficult decision of whether to be buried or cremated, a family insider told The National ENQUIRER. But the source also revealed the heartbreak behind that decision, as the beloved star, 78, ponders being buried alongside her kid sister, who died of a drug overdose or joining her only son and her younger brother in having her ashes scattered. Mary is wrestling with these decisions with husband Dr. Robert Levine as she lives out her remaining days at their $10 million estate in Greenwich, Conn. The dying star is considering cremation as a tribute to her son, Richie, who died of an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound in 1980 when he was 24. Again the "sad last days".... last year there was an article about Valerie Harper with the same phrase (I can only see it by Google-newsing "valerie harper sad last days national enquirer"). As long as she can still decide how to die, she can't be at death's door (Wouldn't her guts be burned or buried instead of wrenched?). Also, how can Mary's world be rocked "again" by the death of her brother, when that death occured 24 years ago?I tried to search for "sad last days national enquirer" but Valerie or Mary weren't even in the first seven hits! They applied this cliché to literally every aging celebrity from James Garner and Zsa Zsa to Olivia de Havilland, Maureen O'Hara, Joanne Woodward and Nancy Reagan. I have the feeling that these articles are primarily written by an automated algorythm using pre-defined keywords (dying, tragic, regret etc.) and then fine-tuned by a sad excuse for a journalist.

And whilst I'm copping up front for being summat of a sick fuck I do have sympathies for the man. There's much tragedy along with the comedy when you consider the fact that even Gazza's therapist thought he was paranoid, and the harder Gazza argued they really were spying on him the more he convinced people the plot was well out of sight.

D'ya know what, that's a great idea. How about we invite the various champions: DDP, HPDP, Deathrace etc. into a thread next year where five talented topplers are lined up and the Champions League involves the 2015 winners competing to pick the closest dates of 2016 death for these people, or summat. And qualification for this dead pool of dead pools is limited only to outright winners of existing competitions. Will there be television rights? Yeah, I won't settle the worldwide deal for less than £12.50.

I should point out that I am now no longer banned from any establishments in Fraserburgh. After a 2 and a bit month campaign against the organisation in question (which used to employ me), they have climbed down and admitted that management acted unprofessionally in the way they treated me on the day. Furthermore they have graciously allowed me to enter their premises as a customer (Yas). This did not go as far as an apology, but it was good enough. In addition to this in a second reply the Chairman of the Board wrote to me explaining that he had understood the months since my forced dismissal had been 'difficult' for me, and went on to say he was sorry about the "continued actions of others". The very next day I learned that the Trustee who was responsible for me losing my job, and the Trustee who pushed for me to banned from the building, resigned. In short: I've beaten the fuckers. I've beaten them so convincingly I should probably ask for my old job back...
