Tears for souvenirs are all he's left us. Yes, the great Ken Dead has doddered off, and as his only appreciator under the age of 70 I am not tickled by this news. Six weeks in ICU with pneumonia was always going to be a tough ask for a 90 year old, and yet, it's YWillz who kept the faith and YWillz alone. He moves into a 4-0 lead on Cap'n Chorizo - upset on the way? Indeed he's probably thinking: happiness, happiness, the greatest gift... Apparantely he got married to his long term partner on Friday which suggests he knew he was on the way out and wanted to get his financial and legal affairs in order. One of the shortest marriages ever !

Beyond his comedy gigs (I believe a short one would run to 10 hours) and novelty singles (Tears was a UK Number 1!), he was also quite good in Branagh's Hamlet, and his Doctor Who cameo is far better than the Ian Levine type fans will have you believe. Apparently he married his missus of 40+ years on Friday.

You created the topic Tuskegee Airmen and then when one of them croaks it you post it in World War II Veterans.

RIP Sir Ken Dodd a true legend thought he didn’t have long left when he was in hospital for so long but thought he had a good few months in him yet. RIP

I wasn't expecting this at all! He was doing really good to still be performing at his age and I thought he would last years yet. Still 90 is a good age and glad he was well and still working until right near the end. RIP Sir Ken Dodd.

Well, now in jail for fraud with his hedge funds. Top target for the next seven years for anyone who suffered from his pill price rise. Worth $70m too, so another reason he might not last.

If he dies this year the committee will kick theirselves just for the fact he is such a big name in his nineties.

When you are 90 what doesn't kill you does not make you stronger.
