3 pointsIf TM had been serious about delivering the best Brexit for Britain after the election rather than putting herself in thrall to the DUP she should have proposed a Government of National Unity to deliver Brexit with another election in the summer of 2019. This would have tied the Labour votes in and weakened the hand of the extreme Brexiteers. I see the ERG have agreed not to move against TM until after Brexit this is because the don't have an alternative to Chequers and do not want to risk a people's vote. So either she will deliver No Deal (which is what some of them seem to want) but can be portrayed as a failure or she will deliver Chequers which will be sold as not a proper Brexit. Either way she is done for and they will attempt a right wing coup and still have three years until they need to hold a General Election.

3 pointsIf the waters start to rise SC, and you're are struggling to find it, would that make you a Raider of the Lost Arc? Speaking of which, this looks like The Arc of the Covenant. * disclaimer/ Sitiing on this could give you 2/3rds of a back, sack and crack without asking.... **#2 It terms of sword monuments, the Norwegies do it well.. "Arc, I hear the Vikings are coming" maybe.

2 pointsCorbyn and May are like two dead trees holding each other up, as some wit put it. Of course, for both their flaws, where are the alternatives? For either? Parliament is swamped with a whole bunch of non-entities, it is a true mediocracy these days.

1 pointJust a more orderly transition and, naively I guess, a more unified approach from the UK based on the actual vote result. With hindsight I think a mandate for change was needed so it should have required a 60:40 vote (although obviously any vote over 50% would have caused issues with the status quo it may have given momentum for change within the EU without us actually having to leave). Post referendum a mature political approach was required on all sides so media blackout on discussions only releasing agreed items, no pressure internally in each country from media or political parties for negotiating positions (unrealistic I know), a more unified approach generally to the exit from all sides. Instead it became very vitriolic from Europe and within UK and within Conservative party and this has just led us to where we are today - like I said - too many people trying to score a 'win' for short term gain rather than looking to secure the people a workable solution - the long term win. Brexit created a problem for all of Europe including the UK and it required a unified approach to sort it out with concessions from both sides but everyone working towards a solution - it doesn't feel that has happened - it feels like both sides have looked for their own ideal solution individually and then clashed publicly when they are not the same.

1 pointAlright, I did some internal debating on what potential changes will happen for the Crowdsource list next year, and while there were a couple of minor changes I was considering, I’ve decided to keep the submission process mostly the same. There are two things that will be changing though. First, I will allow someone to have their shadowlist as their Crowdsource list if they say that I can take that same list from that thread. I want to make it clear though that if you do decide to go that route, do not send me a separate Crowdsource entry for the list. It’s still one list per person. Secondly, I’ve decided to change the period of entry a little bit. The opening date that submissions will be allowed is Black Friday (the exact time will be decided by the opening of the new thread), but I will be closing the submission of new lists 3 hours before midnight in the UK. The reason I’m doing this is to give me enough time to properly set up the list so I can announce it as soon as it midnight in the UK (it shouldn’t take that long since the test I ran was successful, but just in case...). While some might complain that this may make some of the late December hospitalizations less likely to make the list, I’d argue that they weren’t likely to make the list anyways as a good portion of the list submissions would’ve happened before that date anyways. With that said, I’d expect the thread for the next Crowdsource list to be opened around the same time as the new Advent Avalanche thread, ie late October early Novemberish...

1 pointHi all, I have watched DL from afar for about 4 years but only recently took the plunge and joined, I have a question to ask of some of the older sythe-sayers on the forums. Does someone actually have to be ill or showing obvious signs of dying to warrant having their own thread ? Is old age enough and if so what age would you class as old ? I don’t want to start pissing people off to be honest. Other than that I would like to say I am really enjoying the page as a whole, lots of knowledgeable members posting interesting stuff (Mostly) Cheers

1 pointIf you could read properly, you would quickly realise that this is not what I am arguing. Please keep your moronic, puerile and infantile posts off this thread. Many thanks.
