4 pointsWell... as that was wrong too (the landslide bit, obvious I didn't foresee Zombie May)... I can't see beyond a Tory landslide. Boris Johnson is 100% going to win a huge majority in any upcoming election...

3 pointsI think it's important that the calibre of the presenter matches the calibre of what they are presenting. There is no doubt that there was a time for David Dimbleby but that time feels like it is behind us. It feels like we've moved on to a new period in our parliamentary democracy requiring a new calibre of presenter. I propose... ...Fearne Cotton.

3 pointsAli Milani, off of Labour, is challenging Johnson's seat of Uxbridge and South Ruislip, and he appears to be growing in popularity in a seat where the Conservative majority of 10% could quite easily be swung. All this to say, hopefully, Michael Portillo will no longer be the prime namesake of this phenomenon after December.

1 pointIf you could see the fit of rage I threw at this heinous suggestion..... My serious suggestion would be George Alagaih or Simon McCoy.

1 pointThis is still running; the update will come eventually. I'm very sorry for the delay.

1 pointDon't give up! One of these parliaments has got to last the full 5 years...surely?
-
1 pointI'd wait until roughly 20:00 tonight before opening the game. The government will be withdrawing the election bill if the opposition amendments to extend the franchise pass. This isn't nailed on yet. Three way splits between IND v BRX v CON are of interest though, could see a few LIB DEM and LAB seats picked up in bizarre places on these terms.

1 pointI will conclude this thread at calendar year's end, marking one year since the start of the death count, as per the original story. With any luck, this will have been the last entry and no more horses will die, making your request a moot point.
-
1 pointCan we keep this thread to humans and notable horses, please? There are hundreds of racehorses in training within a few miles radius of where I live. I daresay most weeks one or two die of some illness or misadventure. Shit happens. They are delicate creatures.

1 pointThis looks like it is cruising to another early finish and at the moment could be just a score draw. With the only losers being The people who didn't pick Paul Flynn and The British Electorate. Although it stays running until The Queen officially dissolves parliament. The new Parliament will be messy. Is there time for full scrutiny of candidates and it could be the ugliest and most poisonous campaign ever. However this might mean that the non death by elections might be more interesting. However before I get ahead of myself who wants me to run By-election Bingo 2019-2024?

1 pointIs this thread not redundant? Political Frailty would do just as well for everyone listed here.
-
1 pointThat is not the case at all. There had been comments in her thread about the silence. Her family chose not to announce her death immediately, and that was their prerogative.

1 pointHappy 108th Birthday to the world's oldest international cricketer, Eileen Ash! (Bah I"m a day early, just beating Y-Dub to the post)

1 pointRoger H. Zion, 98, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2019. He served as a U.S. Congressman for 8 years, serving from January 3, 1967 to January 3, 1975. In 1967, Zion called anti-Vietnam War protesters "traitors" and suggested that "any of them involved in illegal acts be treated comparably with Frenchmen whose heads were shaved if they were caught collaborating with the Germans in World War II." Roger became the President of Resources Development Inc, in Washington D.C. and was a Consultant for several companies in Washington. He loved playing bridge. He once played in a Parliament vs. Congress bridge match, alongside his partner Warren Buffett, aboard a barge on the River Thames. He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Marjorie. (SOMEONE CUE ALAN KING) Seeing as Zion snuck under the radar, it would appear that Sir Creep has NO OBITUARY #5 in the ABC deadpool SC

1 pointThat’s brilliant. DEATH OF YHE YEAR nominee. We should name a DP after such heroism each year. I just may do that.

1 pointSo, a Marmite government goes into an election against an opposition led by a controversial 70 year old leader who has rumours of ill health, and lots of people vote more for the party's ideas than the actual leader because there was a big split in the official opposition over internal selections and tariff, to the point many Tory MPs couldn't image him ever becoming Prime Minister. He is also seen as being unable to stop one of the great prejudices of his day because he can't control his own party on the subject... But enough of Henry Campbell-Bannerman...

1 pointMy view is to reinstate all of them, although I accept I may be in a minority on that one. The barring of these sources was done with the best of intentions, but I do think it has resulted in the odd quirky, stylish or interesting person missing out on points. Variety is the spice of life (and death?) and while we can eternally debate the notion of 'celebrity', I can't say I'm a huge fan of the drift towards the Drop 40 mentality of deciding to pick someone because you think everyone else will as well. IMO this significantly impacts on the chances of those who don't want to follow the herd and that seems wrong to me. I would add that none of the above should be seen as a criticism of @themaninblack, who had the impossible task of trying to please everybody and didn't always get the appreciation he deserved. In fact I would go as far to say that, at times, he got a rough deal on here both as a poster and as a deadpool organiser. As a mod, there were a couple of occasions where I now regret not intervening to support him and his continued absence from these forums bothers me. TMIB was one of us, going right back to the early days, ultimately sacrificing huge amounts of his time to keep the rest of us entertained. I miss him and I want him to come back. Hopefully he will reappear some day.
