4 pointsNewspaper obituary for Dorothy Claire. This one took me far too long to find! As for "Doc" Goldberg, his real first name was Edward. The person on that forum says he died in either Jan or Feb 1988. There is a death record for an "Edward Lord" in brackets it has "Edward Goldberg" written. He died in Jan 1988 and was born in 1913 in Brooklyn, NY. That's the closest record I could find. Just a hunch, and by no means a strong match. Anyway, you're correct. Ray Anthony is definitely the last surviving member. He was still playing his trumpet last year. He'll be 100 in January. It'll be a sad day when he passes.

3 pointsThere are not that many near nailed on debuts/returnees this year. Pele obviously. Frank Field and Antony Sher are Ill and famous enough but there is a reasonable chance the committee will miss them. George Alagiah and Bill Turnbull should be called up but will they? I hope Marianne Faithful is considered.

2 pointsThere are at least 2 others from The Glenn Miller Story still alive. Alan Copeland (wiki), a member of the Modernaires appears in the film. He's 95 and still kicking about. Deborah Sydes (IMDb), child actress in the film is still alive according to the residency records. She's only 70! Copeland, Sydes, Tempo and Ross were all uncredited ofc.

1 pointhttps://suomensotilas.fi/2021/11/25/ss-mies-veikko-kasslin-on-kuollut/ SS-Rottenführer Veikko Kasslin dead. Died on the 19th of November at the age of 102, he was (probably) the last living Finnish iron cross recipient. Two Finnish SS volunteers remain, names not mentioned in that post.

1 pointNew Coronavirus variant found in South Africa, being described as "concerning" and "heavily mutated". https://www.bbc.com/news/health-59418127 Thank God, I'm so ready to get so violently sodomized by the virus until I shoot blood out of my rear end like a fountain. I want this virus to chain me to the radiator and never let me leave the house ever again.

1 pointAnd surely contracted It in hospital, a sign he is very likely immunodepressed. Could be a precautionary measure, but his clock is ticking. Way too many issues to deal with.

1 pointHe is Death List worthy. The committee have precedence for American celebrities of a certain era of American TV shows ( Carl Reiner ,Aaron Spelling Sid Ceaser, Abe Vigoda, Mary Tyler Moore Valerie Harper etc) .He is a massive name in US and most people in Britain of a certain age or older would be very familiar with his work I would say.He strikes me as a sort of American equivalent of a Johnny Speight, Jeremy Lloyd, David Croft or Roy Clarke sort of figure. Speaking of which Clarke is 92 in January and very deathlisty also.

1 pointI do recall the scandal when he was caught knocking one out in a porn cinema. A moment lovingly recreated by Viz's Roger Mellie strip wherein Roger was similarly apprehended and responded by asking what his ticket price had been paid for if he wasn't able to pleasure himself to the money shot moment.

1 pointHello all. Glad to see my baby (not to say brainchild) is still on the go. I'm still available to judge guilt of Crimes Against Humanity if anyone needs me to. I know I've got it well wrong before in at least one case. Luckily the corpse in question was dead already. Big thanks to Death Impends for keeping the show going. Is it too late to join in?
-
1 pointNice to see this is still on the go. I trust Rotten Ali is still running it in a suitably prejudiced and arbitrary manner, true to the spirit of its founder?
-
1 pointThis is appauling: "quite frankly" is clearly a sub-clause and, therefore, needs commas on either side and "This is more harsh" simply continues the sentence so the "t" should be lower case! This from someone who thinks "peddling" has something to do with riding a bicycle

1 pointThere was a small DL Con held on Tuesday last in the Dutch town of Utrecht. Magere Hein was there and I think I was there too. Much beer was drunk. Of that I am certain. A most enjoyable event, hopefully to be repeated.

1 pointI used to have a similar book entitled "Grave Humour" by Fritz Spiegl. Here's the only one I remember, which is from a headstone in Aberdeen allegedly: Here lie the bones of Elizabeth Charlotte Born a virgin, died a harlot She was aye a virgin at seventeen A remarkable thing in Aberdeen.
