1 pointWho's for a pint and a pie somewhere? What a hoot it would be for the great DL'rs to meet up and swap knitting patterns! We may even get some drive by ranters to the meet to spice it up by suggesting a cross stitch instead!!! Hey Grim, I'm up for it. Is there a pub anywhere called the "Dead 'n' Buried" as that would be a suitable venue. See y'll at the Gate. SP

1 pointCount Ingolf of Rosenborg (mentioned twice on this forum before, including page 1 of this thread) might make a good pool pick for next year, but he also might have a bit of future immortal potential in him. 84 next year, he has suffered from COPD for atleast 14 years, heart problems, "close to dying" in 2010, serious pneumonia in 2020 and also ill in 2021. If you look at any picture of him from the last decade he looks very discolored and clearly unwell. Edit: Also underwent surgery for lung cancer in 2017.

1 pointMaking a long story short, and I promise no more hi-jacking the thread, but I have the washer & dryer from the home of EJ Ourso, whom the LSU School of Business is named after. Got them (used obviously) like 9 years ago and they work great still. SC

1 pointI'm more annoyed that it used to take 30 mins, and they now stretch it to an hour to ask the same number of questions. I don't give a toss if Dan from Bromley once met Peter Ustinov, I only want him to not know the capital of Qatar and crash out in Round 1 swiftly as possible.

1 pointJust means we'll lose the next one 8-0 to balance it out on current form...

1 pointIn a horror day for the ABC, another prominent member of their staff has gone: "The man behind many of the ABC's flagship television programs, Ian Carroll, has died from pancreatic cancer. His death comes on an already sad day for the ABC after the deaths of journalist Paul Lockyer, pilot Gary Ticehurst and cameraman John Bean in a helicopter crash near Lake Eyre on Thursday evening. Mr Carroll helped establish many news and current affairs programs including Lateline, Four Corners and the 7.30 Report. He was also a leader in digital media, driving the development of iView and apps for the iPhone and iPad as well as overhauling the ABC's websites. Mr Carroll died on Friday evening, surrounded by his wife, ABC journalist Geraldine Doogue, and other family and friends." http://www.abc.net.au/news/2011-08-19/ian-...ll-dies/2847732
