If the Tories had a policy in their manifesto to kill the first male-born child in every household, the Telegraph would still back them.

So I'll just sum up my first impressions. Sunak - your dorky cousin who thinks he is cool at public speaking and thinks his opinions are your opinions. Starmer - your aunt who misses your birthday every year because the price of everything is going up and she can't afford even a card. Davey - your dad who keeps banging on about the death of your granny from cancer and who would be quite happy to settle for a quiet life if everything wasn't so rigged against him. Swinney - a distant uncle who tells you what is totally wrong with your family and how hard he works to stop his family from being like yours. Tice - your old racist great-grandfather who keeps going down to the beach with his telescope and still believes we are at war with the French.

Johnny Rep was mentioned on Dutch TV yesterday. A TV presenter made a song about Rep and then a former football commentator (known for the commentary of this Bergkamp goal) mentioned Rep is "currently not in the best phase in his life and hasn't been for a while". All the money the song makes will go to Rep, too. And a yearly local cycling event that bears his name has announced there won't be a 2024 edition, instead focusing their attention on the 2025 edition.

He even misspelled it as the link clearly shows his name as "Bastiaan Poortenaar". On a completely unrelated note, as a Dutchman I never heard of him either before I opened this thread.

IIRC the middle group of the 70's No.1s was a struggle. This is why punk had to happen

Once finally convinced that "The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent full of doubt" (Bertrand Russell, not me sadly) is actually bloody true and you'll be fine. Took me a while to believe it and I'm not completely daft, though no longer anywhere near school age.

Shocked shitless he never got an obituary from any media site since they were a big deal over here in the US in the 80s. Sort of like when Colton Coffie singer of Cops theme song “Bad Boys” was never reported.

Gosh, what is she thinking? At 88 she should be zooming around. Lazy old bat.
