I wonder whether or not we should  read anything into the fact  the other thespian Dame Joan- as in Dame Joan Plowright  wasn't there?

Just a thought...

Doesn't get out much now. Blind as a bat!

This was posted on facebook today, and was said to be a recent photo of her on a train.

It’s not that recent, and it’s been posted on the forums before. I can’t remember which thread though.

I found this article. Apparently she has lived there since at least 2021.

It's interesting to see a British performer opt for a care home other than Delville Hall.

She has lived in Chichester for years - prehaps just wanted to stay local

Betty Boothroyd dying in Cambridge casts doubt on the idea that they were a couple.

If she dies, will the headline be "Bucket kicks the bucket"?

I loved her in Keeping up appearances.. My parents would watch it sometimes and we all would be laughing over something she was doing or pronouncing. I didn't realize she was still living.  God Bless her

Patricia Routledge did a reading at Betty Boothroyds memorial service on Monday. No pictures of her, but apparently she "hobbled".

Surely that is an old photo. It looks like Glenda Jackson between Penelope Keith and  the Queen and she has been dead almost a year

That's not Glenda Jackson. Isn't it Vanessa Redgrave?

Glenda Jackson was never a Dame, so it can't be.

Yep.

Routledge looks better to me than Virginia McKenna does, although both are doing very well for their ages.

Sian Phillips looks in very fine fettle.

Virginia McKenna looks like she has sight issues. There is another pic of the dames on the Daily Mail website with Judi Dench as well.

Penelope Keith looks good for 83. Maureen Lipman and Joanna Lumley are both quite glamorous still for 77.
