Alec Baldwin fired a prop gun Thursday that killed one crew member and injured another on the set of his film. Alec Baldwin described the killing as a "tragic accident". He wrote on Twitter: "My heart is broken for her husband, their son, and all who knew and loved Halyna". No immediate charges were filed and sheriff's spokesman said Baldwin was permitted to travel. The DA appointed a special prosecutor in the case, Andrea Reeb, who happens to be a Republican member of the NM House. This smells more like throwing the book at a celebrity to make a point to the industry. Leads to more guidelines/rules, gets a lot of press, etc. In reality he likely avoids any punishment at all besides maybe some fine or community service. Rich famous actor who pointed and fired the gun. Dismissed in a couple of days. Ok.
