RIP Wee Jum 1,559 Posted January 12, 2022 I forgot he was still alive. Seems to be ages since Dame Edna retired, probably not as long as I think
GEMINEYE 206 Posted January 12, 2022 Barry Humphries is embarking on a substantial UK tour in April/May 2022, so must be physically up to it.
TheKeysOfMarinus 390 Posted January 12, 2022 Seems to be going strong, I feel fairly confident he’ll be still around for his 90th in just over two years time.
ladyfiona 2,570 Posted February 20, 2022 Recently turned 88. I was scrolling through Rob Brydon's Twitter and saw he recently had dinner with him.
maryportfuncity 10,630 Posted May 14, 2022 Not looking remotely dead when I had an encounter with the man last night - finished the show by announcing another tour and different show to follow this one. Left me wondering how many (if any) luvvies or the like have done anything like a one man show aged 100. I know it was a running gag in George Burns' shows that he couldn't have a 100th birthday party because he'd be playing a gig in Caesar's Palace that night (he made 100 but was too weak to do the gig - though he joked that what he wanted for his birthday was a night with Sharon Stone). Anyway, Barry might still be on stage in 12 years time:

Suffered a bad fall and broke his hip earlier this year. Must admit his advice quoted there raised a smile: Quote "I strongly advise not breaking your hip!" drol 11,883 Posted April 17, 2023 Those past days have been dry as a nun's pussy in terms of notable deaths. That said, at the moment no one of the hospitalised/ill ones seems on the verge of croaking.

openviews 314 Posted April 19, 2023 Lily Savage and now possibly Dame Edna. Both Paul and Barry were able to step out of the shadow of their most famous characters/creations and have a disctinct public persona in their own right. Although inevitable, it’s a shame that when they die that they and their creations also go at the same time.

The Immortal 634 Posted April 19, 2023 Nothing wrong with Dame Edna, I think she's a great character. But I think I'll fondly remember him as Bruce the shark from Finding Nemo.
