Nikolai Fomin, the Chernobyl Chief Engineer. Extremely reclusive but 86 years old and chernobyl plant director Bryukhanov got obits from lots of places when he died two years back.

Another one, Nikolai Tarakanov who led a cleanup operation of radioactive debris is still alive. 89 despite decades of health troubles caused by radiation exposure.

Why isn't Buzz Aldrin on the list, he is much more famous than many of the names on this list?

Not sure if he's already been discussed but John Astin, the gentleman who played Gomez in the 60s Addams Family, is still around. He'll be turning 94 in 2024, if he makes it. The most recent photo I've found of him was in 2021, and he didn't look so great then. Maybe he's someone to consider for 2024.

Astin also played The Riddler in the 1966 series of the iconic Adam West Batman. Not many survivors from that series - Catwomen (Julie Newmar and Lee Meriwether) and Robin (Burt Ward) and that's about it. Now 90, 88 and 78 respectively.  Newmar feels especially worthy of consideration given her health history.

Linda Ronstadt? Idk in what shape is she since the 2019 re-diagnosis.

Alain Delon and Bardot could enter the game.

Liza Minnelli confuses me. Sometimes she looks like days from death bed and sometimes like she has 20 years in her.

Lee Grant? Since her birth year is unknown?

Also, how frail is Phil Collins? Frail enough to enter the game?

I know these ideas have already been given before but I want to give my opinion on why these people should be on next year's list.
Bruce Willis: his dementia has clearly advanced quite a bit during this year, according to the publications of his relatives it is getting worse and worse, I don't know if it is really true or if they are exaggerating but I recommend not taking your eyes off him.
Pope Francis: a series of health problems during the year, he has been in and out of the hospital several times.
Michael Caine: He is clearly entering an older age and does not look in good physical condition.
Vladimir Putin: there are several rumors about his illnesses such as pancreatic cancer and Parkinson's, he also has a very high probability of being assassinated.
Michael J. Fox: his Parkinson's has advanced too far and I quite agree with the rest of the members who have spoken about him, he himself said that he would not reach 80, but now the question is if he will at least reach the age of 70.
Jack Nicholson: he has deteriorated quite a bit, I honestly don't think he will leave in 2024, but 2025 might be a better idea and I don't see him reaching 90.
Buzz Aldrin: old age, we've lost a lot of astronauts lately and why not have Buzz make his debut on the list?

Society if the DeathList committee doesn't pick Bruce Willis and spares us 20 pages of "he seems physically well despite his dementia, why is he on the list??" Prunella Scales-style posts:

More French names should be included like Françoise Hardy or Brigitte Bardot, they are largely more famous than some others names in the DL. Sorry if in these thread, I repeat these names all time but both made news for their health problem. Their passing would have a large coverage of the French medias, and a little one in  the British medias like the BBC or Sky News

I think Delon is less known outside France than Bardot. I would like to see Liza Minelli in the DL. Phil Collins is in good shape, I don’t know why he should be on it. Mikael J Fox should be added.

Some names cited above are known just in the UK, for example :

I know the rule of these forum is any personality dead whose death is coveraged by British media. But the DL should include personalities who are famous other than their own country.

Be prepared to be slaughtered french enthousiast !!
something weird is that Philippe de Gaulle is somehow mentioned a lot around here and as much as I think he’ll get qo in UK, there are more famous french names to consider. I can see Bardot and Delon being included just for their age and famousness but I don’t think Françoise Hardy is the Kind of picks that interests the committee. And as much as I’d like to see Bernie Chirac being in, I know very well this is a lost cause. Too bad, her recent biopic and the major role she played in France politic at the Time (considered to be the french Jackie Kennedy by many) could very well play in her favor

On another note, I do not think Bardot is less known than Delon outside France, BB is probably at the Same level as Catherine Deneuve.

Through age I only know Delon through this forum. Bernadette a list name as a political geek but not beyond that. De Gaulle is a Fascinating obscure notable as I'd call them, his age and aliveness get him interest here more than his fame.

Whereas Brigitte Bardot and say Sophia Loren I've known about for decades. Major international stars whose fame transcends their time.

(We've already had the DL is British and thus British celebrities are obviously a focus so consider that read. Though I will be mischievous and state that the Bogdanoff brothers did a best-selling series of books in French about the first Doctor Who so William Russell's Ian is more famous in France than Philippe De Gaulle is in the UK!)
