Killed himself just after watching Charlton pummel Reading 4-0. I would understand if he were a Reading fan, watching them right now is soul destroyingly bad, but he was supporting Charlton!

 

When I worked in a book shop many aeons ago, his books were immensely popular. I always got the feeling that no-one would admit to buying or owning a Courtney book, but they were the perfect books to read on holiday and then dispose of overseas.
