Don't know how old those pictures of Carter are, but Bush and Clinton have aged

They have - and yet Biden is older than the four men who came before him, which I guess might be unprecedented.

Ronald Reagan (born 1911) was also older than four of his predecessors:

John F. Kennedy (born 1917)

Richard Nixon (born 1913)

Gerald Ford (born 1913)

Jimmy Carter (born 1924)

Yeah, to check Biden's age-related records you always need to consider Ronnie as a benchmark. I'm not paying too much attention (surely sucks to have got such a rampant gerontocracy, but if that's the problem there's not really a huge difference between 65 or 70 or 80). Moreover, can't really put the blame on others, after all my country once elected a leader at 73 and then kept him till he was 87.

In between Nixon and JFK there is Lyndon B Johnson who was born in 1908, so Reagon wasnt older than the past four.

Herbert Hoover actually outlived his entire cabinet. Carter won't get that close, but probably does as well as you can for a post WWII president.

Hoover also outlived his wife, and I wouldn't be suprised if Carter did too.

Was curious how many of his cabinet are still alive besides Vice President Mondale.

Benjamin Civiletti (born 1935) - Attorney General 1979-1981

Ray Marshall (born 1928) - Secretary of Labor 1977-1981

Joseph Anthony Califano Jr. (born 1931) - Secretary of Health, Education and Welfare 1977-1979

Moon Landrieu (born 1930) - Secretary of Housing and Urban Development 1979-1981

Neil Goldschmidt (born 1940) - Secretary of Transportation 1979-1981

Charles William Duncan Jr. (born 1926) - Secretary of Energy 1979-1981

Andrew Young (born 1932) - US Ambassador to the United Nations 1977-1979

Donald McHenry (born 1936) - US Ambassador to the United Nations 1979-1981

Werner Michael Blumenthal (born 1926) - Treasury Secretary 1977-1979

Also, if Carter outlives Andrew Young, he'll have outlived all the 27 (34, 7 posthumously) people he awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Most good Hoovers outlast the lifetime of their owners.

Clinton, as we've long discussed, has heart problems and looks frail.  (Sounds hoarse all the time, too.)  Bush is the same age as Clinton and looks significantly better.  Bush looks very good for a 74-year-old man.  Obama has aged too, but still looks pretty good for 59.

The Biden's visit to Carter is reminiscent of the Bush's visit to Gerald Ford in April of 2006, some eight months before his death. Despite ill health, president Ford and his wife Betty posed with a picture of the Bush's. In this case, only Mrs. Carter appeared with the Biden's in front of her home. I suspect he is not well.

I suspect he's nearly 97 and possibly behind that tree.

Another photo with a different angle shows it's a secret service agent.
