From the what I've read it looks like the plane stalled on takeoff. My guess is either because of pilot error, severely icy conditions or both.

May well be discussing them again on this thread before too long.
One shot Paddy 1,206 Posted February 18, 2018 ATR 72s also have iceing issues that have brought down enough for the FAA to ban them from colder areas, so with the problems avaition in Iran has to deal with I wonder what sort of weather they were flying in. They're still operating three Boeing 727s that are over 37 years old and sanctions mean they haven't been able to acquire legal spare parts for many years. The Americans wouldn't even allow Iran Air to refuel at Heathrow and so they used to hop over to Manston before departing for Tehran.

That'll be the same Manston that shut when it was down to three scheduled flights a day, then. Wonder if the airport's tolererance for the least safety conscious carriers was a factor in the closure. charon 4,943 Posted February 18, 2018 Cross thread chat Mary , but banking facilities not being available, are a biggie for the druggie stoners in american states that legalised weed. Still breaks Federal Law so the weed shops cannot get banking facilities with Federal Banks, and the other banks are at risk of accounts being frozen. Bit coins the way forward then, but I do 'lol' at the junkies thinking their ship came in.......

Debris impacted a window, resulting in decompression at 32,000 feet and partially sucked a woman out; she died later. Putting a name to the story: Jennifer Riordan, a well-known leader and altruist from New Mexico, died Tuesday when a Southwest Airlines jet engine failed midair and its debris blew up a window. Riordan, 43, was making her way back home to Albuquerque, New Mexico, when a terrifying episode ensued about 20 minutes after her plane left New York's LaGuardia Airport. Passengers had to pull her back into the plane when she was sucked out of the shattered window. She died at a Philadelphia hospital after the plane made an emergency landing, authorities said. Hers was the first death from an in-flight incident in company history, the airline said. SC
