Dead Pop Stars

Recommended Posts

I don't know if there's a separate thread for rock stars but if there is I couldn't find it.

Anyway, according to Huffington Post, Axl Rose walks with a cane now (!). Unless he was just thinking of buying that cane from the yard sale and was just playing around with it....

He's walked on and off with a cane for ages, I don't think it means anything at all. I think he looks very well for a man of his age and history.

definitely catching up with him though . 50 and walking with a cane , in this day and age 50 is middle age.

Why does he walk with a cane anyway ? Did he have an accident or a side effect from the drugs?

OK so I wouldn't pick him out as Axl Rose in a line up but he looks reasonably fit, the weight gain is not excessive and it would probably concern me more if he was more gaunt. However I am not a medical man.

Elizabeth McIntosh

Not a pop star herself, but the sister of much missed "Associates" singer Billy MacKenzie, who committed suicide in 1997. Noteworthy in that she is the fourth MacKenzie sibling to die in tragic circumstances - the others died of a drug overdose and in a fire.

Hell, there's clearly mile-wide baggage in that clan. Are any them known to be happy and healthy?

Plus he's still performing regularly, his health can't be that poor

Ali Donaldson from brilliant Edinburgh band The Rezillos has sadly passed away.

No daft puns from me this time.

Rest in peace.

Roger La Vern, keyboard player of the Tornados, has died age 74.

It's his playing you can hear on Telstar.

He did play keyboards on Telstar, but if you'll excuse the pedantry the famous 'futuristic' spacey-sound lines were (almost certainly) done by Meek's mucker Geoff Goddard on a clavioline. Unless it was by Rolf on the stylophone.

Your DDP Rogers seem to be doing about as well as my Harrys :)

Richie Sambora kicked out of Bon Jovi, sales of concerts are low, so perhaps this group will finally die.

I "almost" object this being moved to the popstars thread.......injustice.

My new best friends at Gonzo Multimedia are reporting that Mick Farren - of The Deviants - collapsed on stage last night and never regained consciousness. Cult hero and likely to be widely reported. Gonzo had just signed The Deviants.
