Pertaining to Lardy's problem, I have a friend who has a houseboat and doesn't like the idea of the effluent pipe going straight in to the sea, as it does. So he drives to Tesco's about five miles away every time he needs a shit. No wonder they call it a convenience store.

Went on work's night out last night, got a bit tipsy and was rude to one of the managers. I poked her in the belly,told her she was fat and needed to lose weight, when actually she doesn't. I feel mortified as she's always been quite nice to me. So, how do I handle this? Claim I don't remember? Apologise and say I was joking or just hope to God she doesn't remember?

Great plan from Toast, I would go with that Handrejka. Don't be too hard on yourself, chances are your manager hasn't given it a second thought, drunken comments on work's nights out are common and instantly forgettable except by those that make them.

 

At least you didn't do what I did on my first work's night out. I was nearly 17 and felt so grown up but I was new to alcohol. I ordered what the other, older, staff were drinking - Vodka. It did not end well, I had a few and subsequently vomited all over the scariest, most intimidating boss in the office and I had to be taken home in a taxi bawling my eyes out and carried into my house.I can still remember the excruciating fear I had that whole weekend of facing going back to the office on the Monday. Surprisingly the scary boss was actually really nice to me after that, this was a man who regularly made his secretary cry just by his constant aggressiveness, I think he found it amusing in his twisted way. Oh and the staff were really nice to me on the Monday, it led to a few jokes which I joined in on and I found joking about my own faux pas made it not too bad. Hope all goes well for you next week. Don't forget the cakes!
