When George V died (albeit with some help), the doctors issued a bulletin to the public stating his life was "peacefully reaching its close." I'd personally be surprised if they were more secretive this time around. While the Palace treats the Queen's health as a private matter, readying the nation for this profound shock (regardless of your opinions on the monarchy, she is the one constant in virtually all of our lives) is an important part of the succession to come.
