Also how does it feel to know Scotland could realistically be the only home nation not to qualify for Euro 2016? We'll probably get the Dutch in the play offs. Yeah, I was a bit underwhelmed by Rooney's taking the record too. An interesting question given his score of 49 goals outside the final stages of a major tournament, will he ever add to his one goal at a major finals. It's nine months to the Euros and despite Roy Hodgson's faith so far it's debateable if Rooney is the best option in the harder games. So he has to be picked and played to add to that tally. Surely somewhere there are some stats as to the number of tournament goals versus those scored in friendly matches, not only that, the quality of the goals scored.
