My, being the wife of a prominent composer / conductor seems to promote longevity, although there seems to have been a recent trend: the wives of Vaughan-Williams (96), Barbirolli (97), Milhaud (105) and now Bliss (104) have all succumbed in the last couple of years. Anyway, Rashid Rauf who was linked to a plot which would have involved blowing up jetliners across the Atlantic is believed to have been killed in a missile attack near the Afghan border earlier today. I put him in, one as he would probably have been an unique hit & secondly, in a DVD documentary about Rear Window, he looked incredibly frail. But alas, 50 days early, he has gone.
