1 - The blogger managed to explain how someone - like him - who knows so much is still allowed to live.

Reminds me of Jim Marrs, the guy who wrote the book (lots of conspiracy books, in fact) claiming over 100 people who knew the truth about the JFK assassination were murdered. So, assuming that was true, this global conspiracy bumped off Mafia leaders and world politicians, but leaves some nut writer untouched for 20 years? They must sign up the worst hitmen possible.

You could always keep Jim Marrs work on the same shelf as the dozens of best selling UFO books, all wall to wall with the same stories and all boasting some version of "the truth they didn't want you to know" on the cover.

I don't have any of Marrs' work (nor read it). I do own second-hand copies of some of Von Däniken's (BTW, @ 79 someone to watch) tripe. It has neighbours like Lovecraft, Homer, a Dutch translation of the quran, a few bibles and the book of Mormon. At stormy nights I can hear them bicker.

regards,

Hein

No thanks, though I appreciate the laugh from this:

The conspiracy would be more convincing if:

1 - The blogger managed to explain how someone - like him - who knows so much is still allowed to live.

2 - He researched his facts well enough to realise Joe Meek might have been a predatory homosexual but wasn't a BBC DJ and - in any case - died before Radio 1 even started.

It'd be more convincing too if he'd backed some of his 'facts' with evidence.

Is that the same blogger who has posited that Jimmy Savile is Maxine Carr's father? Top lad.

It's hard to tell whether this is a spoof conspiracy theories site, or whether this guy really does believe everything he reads. Including the letters page in Viz...

It's a CBE not a knighhood. He never was a Sir

It even says in the link for the news article "Rolf Harris stripped of his CBE"

"The Queen has directed that the appointment of Rolf Harris to be a Commander of the Civil Division of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, dated 17 June 2006, shall be cancelled and annulled and that his name shall be erased from the Register of the said Order."

I guess there's one consolation in that he's still on one register.

Why did everyone refer to him as Sir Rolf Harris then?

Not everyone did, the ones that did are thick bloody idiots. Does it say in the article Sir Rolf Harris?

Who is this "everyone"? I've never seen him once referred to as being "Sir Rolf Harris" except in a question that someone posed on answers.com where someone asked if Harris had been knighted.

Well, he won't be losing too much sleep worrying about his earnings, still raking it in from investments:

I thought your bank assets get frozen when you're convicted, unless his family are doing it on his behalf.

No only if they are considered proceeds of crime.

The bloke who co-wrote Layla with Eric Clapton was convicted of murder and on a regular basis the Daily Mail liked to remind people that he was still raking it in. Especially when it was being used in Vauxhall car adverts.

Indeed, and since Gary Glitter himself meant nowt much in the USA his one "novelty" hit over there - Rock n Roll parts 1 and 2, is still pulling around $250,000 annually from regular use to wind up crowds at live sports events.
