More worrisome for many is that it is Sunday tomorrow, and there seems to be a tradition that British Royal Deaths are often announced early Sunday mornings. The Queen Mother died on a Saturday afternoon, and it was announced shortly afterwards, IIRC.

I was staying with my elderly stepfather. The TV was interrupted with "We are going over to the newsroom for an important announcement" (that's pretty much the exact words they used). Old guy: Whatever can it be? Me (calculated guess at most likely event) : The Queen Mother's dead. Old guy (in utter disbelief): No! But I was right. 1
msc 18,436 Posted March 23, 2020 I remember where I was when I heard Margaret had died - reading the breaking news bit at the bottom of the screen during a really bad episode of WWE Smackdown. Can't mind when I heard about the Queen Mum. Alas, I know exactly how I'll find out about Philip. Logging on here one day in the future and seeing the "Dead" tag!

Experienced none myself (Queen mother died while I was alive but don't really remember much) - wish Phil the Greek would fucking hurry up.
Slackhurst Broadcasting 374 Posted March 23, 2020 Diana’s death was the first big news story I ever saw breaking on the internet, it was sometime after 1am on Saturday night and I was in a chatroom and someone posted that she was in a car crash in Paris. I put the TV on and they were covering it, but saying that she had a broken arm and was otherwise not much hurt. That was still the story when I went to bed. Deathray 2,940 Posted March 23, 2020 PM to 'address the nation' at 8.30pm tonight. Just got a tingling feeling this is a royal death rather than a Corona thing.

Hmm, maybe he should be addressing the nations of the United Kingdom, otherwise Blibberwimble is being a bit vague. It'll be nice to spot him, he doesn't get out much these days.
