The family name was originally Smith, but his great-grandfather changed his name to Carrington. His two sons were baptised Carrington, but later became Caringtons, whilst the title remained Carrington, and I have no idea why. I think ordinarily his passing would have received much more coverage like Denis Healeys passing did. But as you know we are going through exceptionally eventful times with the political drama over brexit resignations and England doing so well in the world cup.
