maryportfuncity 10,646 Posted June 8, 2017 REALLY bad news for the Tories mind, apart from owt else she was banking on a big majority to punt the likes of Hammond and Boris out of the inner circle. Can't afford to keep her enemies anywhere other than in sight now, and even that might not be enough. Whatever the plan for the near-certain re-run sometime soon they'll ditch the strong and stable leadership slogan.
charon 4,943 Posted June 8, 2017 Exit poll not that accurate in Geordie land even tho Labour held. Tories will still win this.

Hmmm LOADS of youngsters signed up to vote so not so sure on that. You might find a few supposedly Tory seats suddenly showing loads of Labour votes as those without a hope in hell of buying a house or getting a pensionable job turn up the do Jezza's bidding. Deathray 2,940 Posted June 8, 2017 Way out in Newcastle and Sunderland. Tory majority if that's bellweather.
Bibliogryphon 9,581 Posted June 8, 2017 How about a three year Government of National Unity to sort out Brexit then rerun in 2020.

RoverAndOut 4,746 Posted June 8, 2017 Can't read anything into the early results. I think the exit poll will be pretty close to bang on, John Curtice is usually pretty accurate. Even if she scrapes in with a majority, Theresa May's credibility is shot, she won't last long, that's my tip Bingo fans!

RoverAndOut 4,746 Posted June 8, 2017 I don't think it matters hugely what happens to the SNP. If they lose all those seats, then we end up at the exit poll with the Tories short of a majority. If the SNP re-gain some of those seats, then it makes no difference really, a couple may come from the Tories, which pushes them further from the winning post, but even if they come from Labour or the Lib Dems, it's just switching the progressive vote, the numbers stay the same in terms of Tories and opposition. If Salmond and Robertson go Indy 2.0 will be firmly off the table for the foreseeable.
msc 18,448 Posted June 9, 2017 Labour gain Rutherglen. Yeah the exit poll is bollocks. It's too pro-SNP by looks of it...

RoverAndOut 4,746 Posted June 9, 2017 Lots of Labour grandees giving praise to Jezza tonight. Looks like Corbyn's Labour might be here to stay for another election cycle - so 6 months!

Joey Russ 7,227 Posted June 9, 2017 I somehow get the strange feeling that Javier De Cuellar's death will get announced while counting all the seats for parliament. Don't know why. Probably false, but it would be funny if its true.
