What's the odds on Tezza stepping aside before noon BST?

As an American, this is my first British election that I've actively spectated. I am truly shocked, but can't say I am surprised at what I just saw. We experienced this back in November. I guess we can say that both countries should never trust polls any more. I did root for May but I can't say too much as I don't live in the country. The future of the United Kingdom is looking almost as grim as the United States' right now. Good luck!

This is the third electoral mess of the current Tory era, after Scottish Independence and Brexit. The third 50:50-outcome that is decided by a hair's breadth. This cannot be good for the health of the country. And some people want Brexit vote 2.0, or ScotInd. 2.0, and they'll probably get election 2.0 (with 1.0 an unnecessary snap election). These have been messy years.  Apparently Britain doesn't know what it wants.

I guess May will try to keep in power any way possible and enter the Brexit talks with a 1-2-seat majority awkwardly cobbled together. That majority will fall apart after a couple of weeks/months and re-elections will result in Prime Minister Corbyn.

If it comes to coalition governments then the Tories are screwed. The SNP are far more likely to join with labour than the Tories.

Probably fairly long

Be interesting to see if any senior minister from the last cabinet has actually spoken to the media by 12-00!!

Definitely.  They're all a bunch of self-serving cunts.

Yep it's a monumental mess.

I know the media have been around for a long time but not 24 hour media - I wonder if the election coverage is edited to give close results which then give them even more to talk about and fill their days?

When you see people like Diane Abbott getting elected you have to wonder on what basis people place their votes! If she'd been in charge of the vote they would have had at least 4 or 5 recounts.

I wonder if there are a few Tory strategists out there who might be thinking that Andrea Leadsom might have done better...

If there had been a proper leadership contest last year it would have been clear that May was a shite campaigner!

As soon as the Tories lose some by-elections May is fucked.

A majority of 6.5 working is unlikely.

Problem with that is that in this century only 1 Tory MP has died, compared with 24 Labour MPs!!

They're as fit as butcher's dogs...

Yeah, they're younger, but...South Thanet?

You know, that fraud charge that May defended as innocent?
