He is referred to on Digital Spy as CBB and Big Breakfast star - strange to think that a reality show was the first thought for whoever wrote that!!

Jack Maxwell reveals that he was diagnosed early last year with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

Never heard of him but he sounds very smug.

That cancer kills lots of people.  Chemo often sends it packing for a while, but it tends to come back.   It killed my mum first time round.

He's breaking Sir Creep's First Law of Cancer: don't brag about beating cancer.

:D

I'd add: especially when you apparently aren't even in remission yet.

(Though non-Hodgkin's prognosis has improved a lot in the last 20 years or so...)

Bobby George in hospital with 'severe chest infection'

There's a lot of it about. Dad's had it over Christmas and still not shaken it off, as have quite a few of the more senior members of the family.

BBC radio 2 are to end The Organist Entertains leaving Nigel Ogden who has presented since 1980 out of a job.

Is this a Desmond Carrington/Brian Mathew situation?

Joan Bakewell was speaking in the House of Lords yesterday about equal pay at the BBC. Sounded a bit shaky to me.

She is at risk of the Curse of Frost.

Back in 2013, she was interviewed by David Frost and looked in fine fettle. Last words of interview were Frost saying "See you again for your 90th!" He was dead within months, she has 5 years still to beat that jinx...

Philip Eden, weather presenter for BBC Radio 5 Live from 1994 to 2005, has died aged 66.

Ahh shite. 23 years of listening to him. He still did Up All Night until recently. Must've been freelance the last few years.

Great voice/demeanor.

Frank Bough 85 today :birthday: should certainly be someone people should consider to put on their lists in future.

Sadly George Alagiah cancer is back.

It was bowel cancer he was treated for first time round.

Edit: perhaps this should be in newsreaders or summat?

Here you go.

I think we all know the odds on a relapse from Stage IV bowel cancer.
