With the passing of David Jenkins I did wonder how many of the people represented as Spitting Image puppets in the video for the Chicken Song are still alive?

Its no help to your conumdrum, but I always prefered the B side, Never met a nice South African - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZjwCmJrnlY

Don Shula, who coached the 1972 Miami Dolphins to a perfect season 17-0 is receiving round the clock care since June 15th after a visit to hospital, being treated for fluid retention and sleep apnea. He is 86 years old.

Isn't Mercarte the guy who holds the record for most List of the Lost hits on the DDP with his cardinal-themed team from a few years back?

What was the record? Shameless has 5 non-hits at the moment.

:referee: Trying to bait people into bad ddp picks of local politicians

The "world-famous" was, of course, ironic. And there are other pools beside the DDP.

I believe the record might belong to Oldies But Goodies, a 2009 team composed of 19 supercentenarians and Dubya. 8 names - Arvonen, Fernandez-Fojaco, Hattori, Ide, Igarishi, Moreira de Oliveria, Shiraishi, and Thomas - all died without nabbing the requisite obit.

I checked the cardinals team from 2013 just now as well, and they have 6 names who died that year without QO.

Hey!

Back in 2007-2009, there was an American footballer named Charlie Davies playing here in Sweden. Around that time, he got to play in different international tournaments like Copa America, Summer Olympics, Concacaf Gold Cup & Confederations Cup. I remember him being pretty good, a fast-paced player. He left for the French club Sochaux in Summer 2009. Soon after arriving to his new country, he was in a car accident that made him miss out on the 2010 World Cup. Still, he was lucky to be alive back then.

Unfortunately, it has come to my attention that Charlie, who recently signed for Philadelphia, was diagnosed with a supposedly uncommon cancer type called liposarcoma in Spring 2016. It is in remission now, but what if it comes back??

He was born in 1986, which means that he could be worth 10 whole points for the next 10 years to come on the DDP. Is he obitable? I think so, yes, as British journalists would take note of an international footballer's death.

According to Wikipedia, liposarcoma is what ultimately led to the deaths of Rob Ford, Richard Feynman (indirectly), Chad Brown and Hokie Gajan. The latter two were only in their 50s when they passed away.

Being a former Us National Team Member and playing in the MLS I would assume to be enough for a Daily Mail QO in the least.

8...that's a lot. I might have about 3-4 more non-hits (Craig Lyons, Sarah Swindells, Lisa Brown and maaaybe Debbie Blackhurst, if you care. I have no knowledge of Margaret Lowbridge, but I guess she's dead.). But it's very unlikely. And since Craig Lyons is now into "raising awareness" (but then, why not...), he might actually obit.

Question for everyone right now. What people do you see as a dead cert right now. Right now I'm seeing Gord Downie, Pier Sellers, and Errol Christie.

EDIT: I know there's more, but those are the three that came to mind right now

I know he has his own thread hereabouts but it's been fairly uneventful for a while so it might be pertinent to post here and alert newbies to the continuing marginal hold on life enjoyed by Rabbi Lionel Blue, highly obitable and suffering a triple whammy of serious health problems

Isn't he the chap who went on the radio and said he was totally not going to see his 80th birthday? And he's 86 now.

Aye, but he's not a Zsa Zsa job, more lucky that medical science did more for him than he thought possible. But, like David Crosby, he's collecting fatal conditions. Just a question of when.
