Ideas And Possibilities For 2017

I know he has his own thread hereabouts but it's been fairly uneventful for a while so it might be pertinent to post here and alert newbies to the continuing marginal hold on life enjoyed by Rabbi Lionel Blue, highly obitable and suffering a triple whammy of serious health problems

Wiki page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lionel_Blue#Health

Isn't he the chap who went on the radio and said he was totally not going to see his 80th birthday? And he's 86 now.

Aye, but he's not a Zsa Zsa job, more lucky that medical science did more for him than he thought possible. But, like David Crosby, he's collecting fatal conditions. Just a question of when.

That can be said of all of us.

Louie Anderson looked like he was gonna keel over walking to get his Emmy yesterday. He is a heart attack waiting to happen.

Not a bad list.I do think that Hawking Tyler Moore and Noakes should all be kept on the list next year though.

Aye, and the only thing keeping Vera Lynn on the radar is the date on her birth certificate (which is written on vellum and only intelligible if you are fluent in ancient Anglo Saxon). She's chipper enough every time BBC Radio want a comment on something

I think I'd substitute Gazza for Brucie in that list. Who's most likely to see 2018 out of those 2?

This may be a pick that is judged 'too early' by many but has anyone thought Barbara Shelley may be a decent pick for next year. Just about the only main Hammer horror star left and is 85 next year (DOB 13/02/1932).

You guys definitely have great arguments and here is my responses to them

Hawking: His ALS is getting worse, and I was thinking if it should be him or Gazza. I've decided to go with the latter

Tyler Moore: Her health is getting worse, but I think it's too early

Noakes: He's one of those that close, but didn't make my cut

Forsyth: Same goes for him as well.

Now for candidates you guys want to replace

Gazza: He keeps abusing drugs, and it keeps getting worse. I'd keep him

Tutu: Right now he's constantly in and out of the hospital. It may take a turn for the worse in the future

Lamotta: He's one of those will he won't he candidates

Carter: This is one that shouldn't be droppped for sure. He may be cancer free now, but it could easily com back in the future.

Of course, we can agree to disagree, but this is what I think. In reality though, at least two of the picks I said would be dead by the end of the year.

I always wish someone would just create a thread for this all year, because it crops up time and again, and its not Ideas and Possibilities for the new year, it's Fantasy Booking Deathlist.

I don't understand this. There is one for all year and this happens to be it no matter what the idea.

Could Don King be a possibility? He's 85 right now.

Given the facts in your post (age) yes, he is a possibility, as is everyone else who has an age....

Doesn't seem to be too much wrong with him http://www.nytimes.com/2016/09/22/us/politics/donald-trump-don-king-black-voters.html?_r=0

Isn't there a Quiz Show thread somewhere? Would that do?

However De Mooi has been arrested for murder:

I was sure he was mentioned on here a few years back, when he said he 'may' have killed some boy in the 'Dam. (Punched him and threw him a canal iirc).

Yes, I realise that. So he's not ill, dying or dead, just up for general discussion and gossip.

Broadsheet/BBC journalist Steve - The Media Show - Hewlett was discussing his terminal cancer on Radio Four earlier this week. Currently responding/under control but also terminal for sure.

A Clive James job whereby he'll doubtless keep us informed and last a while from here

And who was he talking to? It's that man, Eddie Mair, again!

Italian cult actor Francesco Nuti was operated following a fall and a cerebral hemorrhage. He is disabled since a fall in 2006 and a long time alcoholist. QO likelyhood is about 0%.

Desperate - even the Deathlist would discount that QO.

Unlikely that she will make it, but Violet Crumlish, "Queen of the Travellers" , is gravely ill with terminal cancer...

She gave it a shot, but dead.

Question for everyone right now. What people do you see as a dead cert right now. Right now I'm seeing Gord Downie, Pier Sellers, and Errol Christie.

EDIT: I know there's more, but those are the three that came to mind right now

Frency Martin Smith Hart Craig Sager SHIMON PERES Sir Colin Meads.

Guess he's not a possibility anymore

Whatever happened to Peter Skellern?

In the 70s and 80s you could not move for his appearances. Never been mentioned here by the looks of it. Hopefully he is doing well.
