Magere Hein 1,400 Posted January 2, 2016 Peter Falk has Alzheimer's I think he'll last a few more years. PS: I REALLY hope that the Peter Falk joke doesn't last longer than a few more years. Problem is: we keep forgetting.
gcreptile 10,972 Posted January 3, 2016 Now he has already been mentioned here elsewhere, but... Andrea Camilleri, italian crime author. He turned 90 last year and the interviews in german media never failed to mention his chain-smoking (he had a heart attack before). After Helmut Schmidt's death, he almost entered my teams, but he looked just well enough not to. 2017 sounds good.

None of these people are dead. If you meant to put it in the possibilities thread, why Barry Gibb? Scraggy Taters 290 Posted January 3, 2016 I'll suggest the following : Ken Dodd Jim Bowen June Whitfield June Brown Nicholas Parsons Bernard Cribbins Aretha Franklin Iggy Pop (though he's always looked like a sinewy skeleton with long hair) and probably Pete Doherty or Shane 'pickle me liver' McGowan.

Anne Buydens followed closely by husband Kirk Douglas Roy Hudd Gerald Harper Barry Gibb Dennis Norden Hi Jaquie-O The thread you posted in was for people who have died in 2016. The thread you need is the "ideas and Possibilities for 2017", which is for people who are still alive at the time of writing. Spade_Cooley 9,525 Posted January 4, 2016 Ahmed's overcome tougher: On why he was sent to a boys home- "during a softball game I hit the pitcher of the opposing team in the head with a bat... I crushed his skull and he was in a coma for almost a year and a half". On his starving family- "I had to sit there and watch my little brother die. His stomach was bloated from sugar water. You could see his ribs and everything. I even cut my own wrists to try to give him blood... to feed him blood because I saw it on TV once. I even spit in his mouth". Ahmed's father's reaction to Ahmed stealing his hot dogs- "He dragged me into my room, tied me down and poured the boiling water from the hot dogs onto my stomach. I was in the hospital for about six months. I was burnt so bad that the meat on my stomach started bubbling up. I remember him putting me in a tub of cold water because I was passing out from the pain. The meat from my stomach was peeling off. I could see it floating in the water. " More troubles with dad- "At the time we had a toy pool table with wooden sticks, and I remember him taking the stick and hitting me in the throat with it... he crushed my Adam's apple. The blood was rushing down my throat and I couldn't stop it... it was choking me." And more- "Then, he got an extension cord and he started beating us [Ahmed and his brothers]. He beat us bad... for almost an hour. It was to the point where there was actually blood and little chunks of our skin on the walls. It looked like a slaughterhouse.... From there, all I can remember is him taking our bunk beds and flipping flipping them on top of me so I couldn't move. All that was sticking out was my upper torso. From there he put his foot on my head and beat me until I passed out... He beat me from the top of my head all the way down my back. My back was almost gone... Then I remember him putting me in bed...Then my mom came in during the night and she rolled me over to change the sheets because the smell of blood from the blood clots got so bad." BCAlum2000 42 Posted January 5, 2016 Three big names I predict will croak w/n a year... Bill Cosby (he's going blind now, plus the stress of his legal woes will do him in) Burt Reynolds (looks absolutely TERRIBLE) Val Kilmer (has terminal throat cancer) I also predict that a major young celebrity who's hot w/ the teen and tween crowd right now will die an unexpected death, most likely from drug overdose or suicide b/c of depression. 2015, we didn't really have any major celebrities die young (unless you count Stuart Scott, Beau Biden, and Scott Weiland and they're really more semi-famous than anything, and no, I don't really consider Bobbi Christina Brown to be famous b/c she had no notable fame other than being the daughter of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown), but we've lost young celebrities every other year. CaptainChorizo 1,982 Posted January 5, 2016 Debbie Reynolds recieved an Honorary Oscar last November but was not able to attend the ceremony and instead taped a message. Also since she had a fall in summer 2014 she has made only 1 public appearance last Jan at the SAG awards where she looked really frail.
