Political Frailty

I think Siphandone will pop up at some major event. Otherwise he is completely bedridden.

Wigberto Tañada (1934-) Former Senator.

The most recent photo of Wigberto Tañada posted on his Facebook was from 2022. He mysteriously became inactive at the end of September 2022. In the photo he looks frail and possibly cancer ridden.

You beat me to it. She is also the last, I believe, of the widow Senators, wives appointed to fill their deceased husband’s term. Jean Carnahan doesn’t count as she was elected.

Jean Carnahan counts now. She dead. Picked in pools and on @Zsa Zsa's leg shadow list. Only news link is barred in Europe so far and I have come out of Xmusk for links. Dang this phone nonsense.

Jean served out Mels term when he died in a plane crash a week before an election. Despite dying he still got re-elected against Bush buddy John Ashcroft. Bush made him Ashcroft Attorney General after this which led to genuinely one of the funniest lines Michael Moore ever came up with.

"They swore him in on a whole stack of Bibles because when you lose to a dead guy you need all the help you can get!"

The deaths of Dianne Feinstein (1933–2023) and Jean Carnahan (1933–2024) mean that Nancy Kassebaum (wiki, born 1932) is once again the only former female Senator aged 90+

No former female Senators are due to turn 90 now until July 1936 when Barbara Mikulski and Elizabeth Dole will reach that milestone.

Philip Bushill-Matthews (wiki), Tory MEP for the West Midlands from 1999 to 2009, dead at 80.

Times obit.

Notable for being a strange one politically. Eurosceptic but in the sense that he wanted to see radical reform in the EU. He ended up campaigning against Brexit then defected to the Lib Dems in 2019 (and rather appropriately is now also a dead parrot himself).

The parasite was a committed EUphile who made a fortune (like many MEPs) from the huge "per diem" expenses. Most MEPs sign in late on Monday evening, sign out early on Friday morning, and collect 5 days expenses (well into four figures) to top up their huge salaries. Then there are the endless free lunches, dinners, boozy receptions, limos and call girls funded by lobbyists, especially Big Pharma such as  Pfucking Pfizer. But they love us all really!

If you look around and you think everyone’s a moron, that’s often a clue.

The real clue is that's always the same idiots (with no meaningful or useful lives) who take this pathetic forum very seriously.

Not sure if this means the marriage is annuled or simply a court/secular marriage now, but it's no longer an Islamic marriage it seems like

Dude is having a bad week, jailed three more times. Next week: 3 years for ‘coughing without due care and attention’, 5 years for ‘walking in a loud shirt in a built-up area during the hours of darkness,' and 6 months for ‘looking at me in a funny way’.

Unwise to fall foul of the military powers-that-be in Pakistan. Funny things can happen in prison.

Sir Colin Shepherd (wiki), obscure Tory MP for Hereford (1974–1997), dead at 86.

BBC News obit.

No surviving MPs from the Hereford constituency now as his Lib Dem successor Paul Keetch died in 2017. The constituency was abolished in 2010.
