I actually live in Massachusetts and the local census is she'll pull through. Likely wishful thinking, but everyone here think she has a shot at making it to '25.

Not the folks I know who still live in state, but i don't know anyone terribly close to the family.

I am seeing prayer circles.

I was wondering it was another "she'll vote one last time" things like with Carter, but frankly, I think she is beyond incapacitated.

Our early voting starts the 19th, but I think some ballots have already started being mailed out?

I don't know any close ties either, but most local media outlets are reporting she'll pull through.

This is mainly motivated by her presence on the Deathlist.

My grandmother pulled through after a stroke in January 2017 but still died just under a month later. Whether she pulls through or not this will definitely leave Ethel in a more fragile state than what she was in before.

well, just saw the news, thought I would be the first. Anyway my previous post was wrong, great pick, a little sad she couldn't pull through as she seemed a good person and I would have loved to have another immortal on the list. 5th hit, will there be more ?

Wondering that too Lafaucheuse. I think we will see 8 overall for the year.

if Carter, Chomsky or Woodward die before the year's over, I'd be quite bored and angry. I want 2025 to be a massacre and now that we know this list will end up with a disastrous score anyway, I hope to save the maximum of picks to break a record next year. Them dying so close to the end would feel like a waste honestly. Hence why I wanted Kennedy to pull through.

And while we can't break a record for the best, let's break a record for the worst and end up with only 5 hits. That would be ridiculously fun instead of finishing with an average 10 or so

I don't care much for the Kennedy's but I hope that this stone triggers an avalanche.

Am I right in thinking that the two wives of Ted are now the only Kennedys left from that generation.

Yes. Well, really only his first wife, Joan. His second wife was much younger and was not around for the heyday of Camelot.

On that note, it is truly extraordinary that Joan Kennedy is still alive. She was/is a prodigious alcoholic and is a miracle that she is still alive.

As dead as this year has been you’re assuming that this year can’t have a span where a bunch of names become hits. In fact that already happened this year, at the very beginning of the year.

Like most who've borne the Kennedy name she has had a tragedy filled life.

Both her parents killed in a plane crash in 1955

Her older brother suffered the same fate in 1966

RFK killed in 1968

Her son David overdosed in 1984

Another of her sons Michael died in a skiing accident in 1997.

Sadly, it didn't stop there. She lost a granddaughter to an OD (2019) and another granddaughter and great grandson (2020) in a drowning accident

I really don't think DL earned this hit. She was relatively fine at the start of the year. You could say that was a "stroke of luck".

Anyway, there's always a fluke hit, and a hit's still a hit etc. etc.
