Book 3,546 Posted January 1, 2018 I think it's ok that she is included, but I am a little surprised that she crashed in at No. 9! Expected her much deeper (40s area).

Expected her much deeper (40s area). Same but a good choice not 100% sure she will go this year but very famous with metastatic breast cancer in the bones. This is the second time she has had cancer too and it is usually worse second time round. If she makes 2019 she will have done very well indeed.I don't think the cancer in her hip is as minor as being stated by her and Colleen. It was most likely bad enough to cause her hip to break in March.Seems too coincidental that she broke the hip where the cancer just happened to be.

Sean 6,309 Posted January 2, 2018 Very famous by today's current standard. Was a member of the Nolans for decades and has been active on TV for years.Guaranteed obit from every national paper and big news site in Britain.
msc 18,431 Posted January 2, 2018 Isn't she one of the loose women?
maryportfuncity 10,635 Posted January 2, 2018 She's in worse shape than we thought David Cassidy was in a year back. His Alzheimers was only the icing on a drink-addled cake which did for his internal organs.

Sean 6,309 Posted January 2, 2018 She has been on loose women a lot both singing and as Coleen's sister. She did a cancer diary on the show last year too.

No that can't be a coincidence, the weakening of bones is indeed a well-known symptom of secondary breast cancer in the bones: Breast Cancer Care UK said: When breast cancer cells spread to the bone, chemicals are produced [that cause] osteoclasts [to] become overactive resulting in more bone being broken down than is being replaced. (...) Secondary breast cancer in the bone may mean that the affected bones are weakened, which can increase the risk of fracture (breaking a bone). https://www.breastcancercare.org.uk/information-support/secondary-metastatic-breast-cancer/secondary-breast-cancer-diagnosis/secondary-breast-cancer-in-bone

Toast 16,127 Posted March 3, 2018 This is what caught my eye: "she remains adamant that she won't be taking chemotherapy drugs even if they can extend her life for a few more months, because she's seen how bad the side effects can be."

Yep, that was the gold nugget. She's a bit too dramatic for me though, and breast cancer moves slowly. And even Leah Bracknell didn't quite believe in kumbaya only.
