MrWonderful 483 Posted August 8, 2022 What a radiant beauty and talent she was. She had this warmth and ease about her that even came through in her singing voice, and she faced her cancer battle with her trademark sunny optimism and grace. I knew this news was likely to come fairly soon (you can only stave off stage 4 cancer for so long), but it doesn't make it any less shitty. She also had to be an incredibly strong person to live as long as she did with what she had. This is a tough one. The world is less good today. May she rest in peace. 4

The Immortal 642 Posted August 9, 2022 RIP. I wasn't around at the time when Olivia was in her peak popularity but my mum was a huge fan of Grease back when she was in secondary school, even recreated Olivia's hairstyle and all. She's going to feel gutted hearing this.

Ulitzer95 12,844 Posted August 10, 2022 That’s the weirdest statement ever. Sounds like it was written by a child, and what’s with all the exclamation marks? The man’s a silly twat.

They worked together a lot and, on a personal note as my sister was there, he joined the last leg of Livvy's Great Wall Of China walk for her charity (along with Didi Conn, who I'm sure I heard on the radio the other day in tears ) . My sister didn't meet ONJ as she was obviously super busy doing press, though I think did get a nod and a smile, but she did meet both Cliff and Didi Conn. My sister was also in the ONJ Wellness Centre hospital in Melbourne not so long ago (hernia op thankfully rather than cancer). Totally fan-girl squee'd out about it, took loads of photos of the entrance, walls with Livvy pics, doors with ONJ codes and kept her entrance ticket as a souvenir, not to mention asking every single person she came into contact with who worked there if they'd met Livvy - a few had; "absolutely lovely" was the overall opinion. Oh, and the food was good too! I don't think I can remember a thread where so many have expeessed such genuine sadness over a death *sniffle* I guess it's been a big death for so many of us who have grown up with her. She'll be missed.
