Count me in as someone who has only ever done karaoke once.

In my final couple of weeks in Cologne, those of us who were leaving were all challenged to something no-one would expect us to so I though I'd have a go at karaoke. I tried to sing Itchycoo Park and I think Lane and Marriott are still turning in their graves.

And almost everyone in this video.

It's 'Comic' relief so it cannot count Handy. :)

I’ve only done it twice and I was absolutely fucking spannered both times. But even if you’re not pissed, nobody wants to listen to fucking amateur twats thinking they’re fucking Tina Turner or Neil Diamond, I can state with absolute certainty that 100% of people that do karaoke are 99% less good than they think they are.

Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon and Garfunkel is always a fun one.
*just a note, I've only ever done karaoke once, during band camp in grade 8. I forget what I picked then.

No Heino then.......Hmmmmmm.

No. Heino is German Volksmusik. Not my business.

I've never done kareoke, but would probably choose an instrumental like Tubular Bells and treat the audience to a thousand yard stare instead.

I did "On A Ragga Tip" once. Not recommended.

Also not recommended: "United States of Whatever" by Liam Lynch

The problem with the latter is if you managed to get it pitch perfect you'd clear the pub.

The one and only time I performed publicly was at an 18th birthday party we sort-of gatecrashed (knew the DJ), and did my not-famed rendition of Perry Como's Magic Moments.

For some reason, it wasn't well-received.

As Book can attest, I miserably failed at Carly Simon's 'Nobody does it better'.

But my Sinead O'Connor was quite good many years ago.

Well, there was some form of applause in the bar, so I wouldn't call it a miserable fail

Yes, and I don't even need karaoke to do that.

Haven't done live karaoke enough to name a regular, but I've tried most genres in my 10.4k online recordings. I quite like doing Jacques Brel songs, either in the original French or as the Scott Walker versions.

I read back through this thread and... yes Spade, I've also sung On a Rubbish Tip by SL2.

Ey ey ba day ba wadladie day
Ay um ba day
Ba day ba wadladie day
Ey ey ba day ba wadladie day
Ay um ba da- ay um ba da-da-da-da wadladie day!

No sense in the bump but ‘Twas funny.
I suspect few around here can carry a choon, and if they did karaoke they’d either have posted already or wouldn’t admit it.  I can, do, and have so listed.

Lets see if I’m wrong about people around here and get even one proper reply.

Used to sing in a new wave (mostly) covers band as a young womble so can still knock out Into the Valley, Teenage Kicks or 'Babylon's burning' in the unlikely event of the occasion demanding it.

Only ever done actual karaoke once, to be sociable. 'Remember you're a womble' was not an option so compromised on 'Still rock''n' roll to me' (Billy Joel).

I refer the honourable member :P  to the post I made on December 6, 2017.
