msc 18,448 Posted February 7, 2018 Sorry, cross wires given Sir Creep was talking about needing a QO!
marinade 18 Posted February 7, 2018 Hello. Shouldn't teams with a unique hit really get a namecheck in the round-ups? Rather than "...one team..."? My uniques are still very much alive, btw. Cheers.

Yeah, we've now gone a full week without a scoring hit. This wouldn't be surprising during one of the quiet months, but February certainly isn't one of those. Joey Russ 7,227 Posted February 8, 2018 Yeah, it kind of has the feel of a calm before the storm. I expect another big wave of deaths to come soon tbh (though it hasn’t been completely quiet, as the former lead singer of the temptations and John Mahoney went during the last week)... Spade_Cooley 9,525 Posted February 8, 2018 It's weird, I don't have records to hand but we have an inordinate number of non-QOs lying around at the moment, admittedly for some (Salvador Borrego) who were never going to qualify, but Barys Kit, Ann Gillis, WPC Davies and the Aston Villa duo you'd have thought were guaranteed scorers. Spade_Cooley 9,525 Posted February 8, 2018 WE HAVE AN OBIT! WE HAVE AN OBIT! Pete Stokes can be crossed off the list: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5365403/Boxing-legend-dies-home-ONE-DAY-wedding.html
Joey Russ 7,227 Posted February 8, 2018 Kudos msc for the gamble. I was too unsure of an obit for him to punt on my team, so congrats on the gamble...
msc 18,448 Posted February 8, 2018 Bloody hell, who knew I could actually call them right for once! So, the guy I thought was a gamble because he was well known in his field but not in the UK... winds up getting a QO because he does the marriage on death bed thing (which I had no foreknowledge of back in December). It's a crazy world at times. Now, RIP to him (no age at all, really) and damn that Here's Who You Could Have Won team for taking my unique, whoever they are.
Death Impends 7,975 Posted February 8, 2018 So msc picked an Australian who got married on her deathbed, she dies off the radar and is discovered to be a 2017 fatality, which bumps up another Aussie pick onto his main, who dies and then obits thanks in part to marrying on his deathbed! Well done on the gamble!

Gooseberry Crumble 5,342 Posted February 8, 2018 I'm a bit of a luddite, often all fingers and thumbs with technology but nevertheless is there a way of me helping get some photographs on some of the listed deadpool names. Or does it have to be the gamerunner who does this? I'd like to help if I can and to take some of the drudgery away from Spade?
Youth in Asia 1,087 Posted February 9, 2018 W P C Davies finally gets his obit in the Times!

msc 18,448 Posted February 10, 2018 67 points from only 5 hits is a remarkable feat by Drol so far. Def one of the big teams to beat this year.
Spade_Cooley 9,525 Posted February 11, 2018 List of the Lost finally up, plus 100 new bios. Edit: and the List of the Missed! And some pictures as well! Someone's trying to put off their spring cleaning here...
CaptainChorizo 1,982 Posted February 12, 2018 Here is one for list of the missed http://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-42789255 Nicanor Parra a 2017 pick
RadGuy 1,614 Posted February 12, 2018 Some other List of the Missed-ers are Dan Gurney (2015) and Olive Nicol (2017). Also technically cancer mum Laura Saull (2017) but I don't think obscure cancer mums were ever really kept track of for the LoM.

Joey Russ 7,227 Posted February 15, 2018 Noticed that I’m in the top 10 for the first time this year without a bunch of people sharing that spot. I think it’s becoming more likely of me getting a top ten spot in the end, though I certainly don’t think I’m going to win yet...

There'll be a legal decision next month whether this brain-dead body continues to be externally stimulated. The decision will definitely be reported. His death as well? By the way, I thought it was too shameless to also pick the body of Taquisha McKitty - a similar case. Judge to decide on decision soon. No UK coverage yet though...
