gcreptile 10,970 Posted October 24, 2018 Thread for John Williams, born 1932, not just any composer, but possibly the best-known film composer of all time (Even Morricone barely a tie?). He scored Star Wars, Jaws, Close Encounter of the Third Kind, three Harry Potter movies, Superman, Indiana Jones, Home Alone .. and many more... Sadly, he's been recently hospitalized and was forced to cancel an event: https://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-45965645 Note the ominous title: "A Celebration of John Williams In Concert". Concerts for November also cancelled. Also...hey committee! 2

Hey, maybe too much foresight but she's onto something. SC

msc 18,443 Posted August 25, 2019 Quite chatty by looks of it in this new interview, but on the audio he sounds quite rough. Combined with infrequent reports of health issues effecting his work now, one to keep a close eye on.

Certainly sounds a bit grim. I know Episode IX was the last Star Wars film he was doing but, according to this from a couple of months ago, he is still down to score Indiana Jones 5, which is currently filming - but I'm not sure if that's based on recent information or the original announcement of that fact from 2016. YoungWillz 21,044 Posted January 29, 2022 Long time John Williams music editor and film score composer in his own right Kenneth Wannberg reportedly dead aged 91: https://musiquefantastique.com/genre-film-music-news/rip-ken-wannberg/ IMDB: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0911194/ I'm not going to mention his credits, the article and IMDB is enough. And a name probably unfamiliar to most of us.
