Ian Smith AKA Harold Bishop in Neighbours.  The most recent thing I can find about him is 2 years old.  He is now 82 years old and over weight.  His ticker is doing a lot of heavy lifting

Listening to a podcast and Robin Mayhew says Tony Finch of The Presidents (60s British band) has very bad Parkinsons and can't speak anymore.

Not too dissimilar to the current President.

Perhaps unlikely to obit, but Mary Barelli Gallagher, personal secretary to Jackie Kennedy, is still around. She wrote a book "My Life with Jacqueline Kennedy" in 1969. One source I found has her born 1926, interview here from 2016 has her aged 88: https://georgetowner.com/articles/2016/03/17/mary-gallagher-pen-and-steno-pad-history-and-everyday-life/

Re book writers - as we're discussing above - Lady Glenconner's book has sold incredibly well since it came out so she's having her highest profile exposure ever. Easy to forget she turned 88 in July

Listening to a podcast and out of nowhere they mentioned John Paul Shellnut, former head roadie for ZZ Top and one of Billy Bob Thornton's best friends, had a stroke and isn't doing too well. QO odds middling.

Middling, that's still good for head roadie, right?

When was the last time anyone scored DDP points for a roadie?

Well on the DDP entry for former Minnesota senator Norm Coleman it mentions that he was once a roadie for Jethro Tull.

Joe Biden.

If Joe Biden wins the 2020 presidential election, I highly doubt he would make it through the first four year term as president. This is because while trying to run for president in 1988, he suffered two brain aneurysms and that took a toll on his mental health. He is also 77 going on 78, so if he does win the presidential election he will be the oldest president to step foot into office.

This might truly be a case where the "Loser" of the election actually wins at life because whoever wins of Biden and Trump is more likely to get Covid-19 and age and health conditions would make either highly likely to die if they get it. Trump loses  the election instead of non socially distanced cabinet meetings indoors he can go back to golfing to his hearts content, and if Biden loses back in the basement until the Pandemic is over.

The loser in Presidential usually outlives the victorious candidate

1960 - Kennedy (died aged 46) defeated Nixon (81)

1964 - Johnson (64) defeated Goldwater (89)

1968 - Exception to the rule as Nixon (81) defeated Humphrey (66)

1972 - Nixon (81) defeated McGovern (90)

1976 - Score draw as both Ford and Carter have lived into their mid 90s

1980 - Reagan (93) has been outlived by Carter (95*)

1984 - Remains to be seen if Reagan (93) is outlived by Mondale (92*)

1988 - Remains to be seen if Bush (94) is outlived by Dukakis (86*)

1992 - Remains to be seen if Clinton (74*) can outlive Bush (94)

1996 - Remains to be seen if Clinton (74*) can outlive Dole (97*)

The others are a bit too recent to make comparisons but of those only 1968 is where a victor has clearly outlived the defeated candidate.

Also, make a list similar to this but for even earlier presidents

Well Wendell Wilkie, Thomas Dewey and Adlai Stevenson didn't even make 70 which KOs 1940, 1948, 1952 and 1956. Dewey  (69) just managed to outlast FDR.  I think Wilkie and his running partner are the only two to both die before the next election was called. Hoover and Landon lived to be 90 and 100 respectively so easily surpassed Roosevelt.

But anyhow I just wanted to mention Wendell Wilkie, because that's a great name...

In tennis, only ten women have ever won a career grand slam - ie win all 4 of the tennis Grand Slams (Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, US Open).

Maureen Connolly and Doris Hart are long dead. Steffi Graff, Billie Jean King, Margaret Court, Chris Evert, Serena Williams, Martina Navratilova and Maria Sharapova are all well known and would be DLers if their health is ever to fail publicly.

Lesser known in 2020, but still breathing is the tenth person, 1956 Wimbledon champ Shirley Fry, who turned 93 a few months ago and is therefore on the radar of any team wanting to pick a nonagenarian sports star.

Horace Greeley who

lost to Ulysses Grant in 1872 actually died before he would have been inaugurated had he won.

Tennis Grand slam title winners was going to be one of my topics if I had won Scavenger Hunt so she would have been an excellent pick for that.

Well it took a toll on someone's mental health for sure.
