What about Mary Costa who played Princess Aurora in the 1959 Disney version of the Little Mermaid? She's now 90.

Wow, that film is much older than I thought it was. :o

Christophe Nayel has metastatic cancer and a gofundme:

https://www.gofundme.com/f/christophe-nayel039s-cancer-batte-fund

Who is that, you might ask.. well he's a New York artist who briefly touched world fame when he posed as Bill Clinton for the portrait in Jeffrey Epstein's appartment.

Could obit, probably not, but well, stranger things have happened.

How about Ronald Pellar? He was 100 earlier this year & was the 7th & final husband of Lana Turner (1921-95). He is also in the record books as having been paid the largest fee ever for a lecture. He is also linked to James Randi as having been a hynotist/illusionist.

At this point in time, my thoughts for next year’s list.

I would drop Emperor Akihito, Shane MacGowan, Dick Cheney, Lester Piggott and General Pervez Musharraf.

I think Noam Chomsky, Walter Mondale, Carlos Menem, Rush Limbaugh, Tim Curry, Bobby Charlton, Trevor Peacock, Glynis Johns, Kenneth Kaunda, James Whale, André Maranne, Michael Parkinson, Joss Ackland, Robert Fyfe, Yaphet Kotto, Hardy Krüger, Tom Parker and Tom Moore should all debut.

I think returnees should be Pope Benedict, Barbara Walters, Larry King, Sidney Poitier, Jake “The Snake” Roberts, Linda Nolan and Loretta Lynn.

I would not recommend Clint Eastwood for next year’s list as I feel he still has quite a few years left.

Paul Harvey, basically, just an old person with dementia... But then he got media coverage with a "music keeps me alert" angle, and he now has a hit record.... or hit digital file.... anyway, 80 and dementia:

I would recommend André Maranne for next year’s list, if I was sure he was still alive (which I think he is, from what I’ve heard), if I knew his precise date of birth (he’s apparently turning 95 next year) and if I was sure that his death would be reported by The British media (which it should be, as he played François in The Pink Panther series). Nevertheless, I plan for Maranne to be on my 2021 Shadow List, unless I hear he has died before then.

Stephen Sondheim appeared in the same report. He should already be on everyone's radars since he's 90 and very famous. He looks ancient (beyond the droopy eye) but he doesn't sound doddery and his voice is quite strong.

Huh, seeing her on the screen right now, I didn't realize that feminist lawyer Gloria Steinem is already 86 years old. Her voice was a little shaky on an ABC interview.

Get her confused with Gloria Allred, also a feminist lawyer, who turns 80 next year.

Is Gloria the Yanks' answer to Karen?

Gloria Steinem was a journalist not a lawyer. Though still a solid pick.

Ah, I confused them, too, I think.

Arrowsmith is right, one is a journalist, one a lawyer.

Andre in Fawlty Towers of course. Prunella Scales' fancy man in that series.

What about Jeremy Irons? He has never looked a picture of health to me and has been a heavy smoker in the past.

I personally feel as though there are many better candidates for the 2021 DL. Eastwood has been health conscious for his whole life by exercising, eating healthily and not smoking. I wouldn’t be surprised if he lived into his 100s.

Also his mother lived to be 97 and was active until quite late in life.

Yes, great point. Eastwood is also planning another movie ‘Cry Macho’. I feel Eastwood’s co-star from Magnum Force, Hal Holbrook, would be a much more appropriate addition to the 2021 list.
