In case you haven't guessed yet, there's a new sheriff in town, after messaging MSC earlier today we've agreed that I'll be taking over the Crowdsourced Deathlist, with MSC still planning on publishing the full list of picks later on in the year, I'll be doing everything else from now on, including running next years.

Not everyone who gets to 99 pages, also gets to 100 pages.

https://longeviquest.com/2024/04/worlds-oldest-man-dies-at-114/ Juan Vicente Pérez Mora dead a couple of months shy of 115. Really defied the odds, fair play to the guy.

A reminder that back in the nineties small steps were being made towards, if not peace, understanding. Then a fanatic, inspired by the words of Benjamin Netanyahu, shot Israeli leader Rabin dead. (In case you think I'm being unfair, a few weeks before Rabin was shot, Netanyahu led a protest march where he brought out a noose and had folk chant Death to Rabin.) Despite inflaming a situation that directly lead to the assassination of a political opponent, Netanyahu was able to take power afterwards, on the basis of being the strongman who can protect Israel from violence. And any time moves were made on either side (not enough of course) he was there to snuff them out. He built a coalition of the fearful, the trusting and the xenophobic. The attacks in October were an existential crisis for Netanyahu, because his entire career is based on being the strongman who prevents this, and it turned out his entire life was built on bollocks and lies, and his own actions had made things much, much worse. The IDF attack on the charity workers doesn't surprise, because Jeremy Bowen (well known BBC journalist) was specifically targeted in 2000. There's been a flexible definition of enemy combatants used in the past, for which the buck stops with the man in charge: Benjamin Netanyahu. For the terminally thick (not you, Willz), this does not mean the anti-semites are right. Fuck them. Israelis have a right to exist same as the rest of us, and racists can get to fuck, but... the Palestinians also have those rights. This is only going to end through some form of two state peace treaty, and the warmonger leaders pretty much need to be removed for any chance of that to succeed. (This includes Hamas, who aren't the voices of all Palestine as much as Netanyahu isn't the voice of all Israel.) It's not surprising, but it is extremely depressing. I can't see either side getting rid of their cunts, and meanwhile, children and innocents continue to die horribly.

I can understand this. Probably doesn't want @lay_kulast95 turning up at his retirement home trying to shag him.

I felt it in NJ. Second earthquake I felt in my life, first was 2011. Earthquakes are so extremely rare in NJ that both times were just a minute of mild shaking yet I felt like the world was going to end. Today it took me about an hour for my nerves to fully settle.

Zhang Lixiong (1913-2024) "Amateur!" (King Jimmy the Superimmortal) "Woof, woof, woooooof!" (A very worried Kabosu) "T...th...this does mean I can die too?" (Shi Ping) Age at death: 110 Known health issues: Hospitalised in critical condition in 2020, on oxygen and bedridden for most of 2021, advanced dementia, in ICU for six months in 2023. Cause of death: suddenly turned into dust. Alignment: One of the last two living founding major generals of PLA (the last one being now Wang Fuzhi), Zhang was a veteran of the Long March, a deputy of NPC between 1975 and 1978, and sometimes a political dissident. He was a symbol of immortality and a favourite of DL forums, whose reputation was cemented by 4 years spent in hospital. A good candidate to succeed Jimmy Carter as the next King, he is survived by the King, with Kabosu and Tin Oo now weighing their chances. At ease, soldier Zhang!

Ma Shitu (1915-2024) "No birthday party? And where the hell do I get my cake?" (Wang Huo reacts to the death of his eternal friend) "Tsk, tsk, not everyone has what it takes to be a king" (King Jimmy I) "T...th...this does mean I can die too?" (Zhang Lixiong) Age at death: 109 Known health issues: Terminal lung cancer in 2003, lung cancer and skin cancer in 2019, frail and hospitalised multiple times in 2020, severe COVID in 2023. Cause of death: autopsy pending. Alignment: Jovial writer who fled from the Kuomintang in the early 40s, and his wife was killed. Hugely popular in his later years, when his story Let the Bullets Fly was adapted into a popular (in Mainland China) movie, Ma Shitu was able to stand and exercise until the end so his demise was still kind of unexpected. Ma Shitu would become king of Immortals after Jimmy's death, but apparently not for this life.

Juan Vicente Perez Mora (1909-2024) "I'm only trying to prevent that guy from claiming to be the world's oldest living man" (Don Vicente about his secret of longevity) "Noo, noo, Nooooo, tell me it's a lie!!! I can't believe this news is true " (Average user on the 110 club. Not a joke) "Peaceful death of 114-years old cause sect mass suicide" (Newspapers tomorrow) "Damn creeps" (Don Vicente's last words about 110club forum users) Age at death: 114 Known health issues: Wheelchair bound for 17 years, but actually always did well for his age. Just he was, you know, 115. Cause of death: Peacefully in his sleep. What a horrible way to go. Alignment: Always seemed a nice chap. Progressively starting to look like an alien, he survived classic geezers like Tanaka, Lucile Randon and Fasu Tsutami. Everyone still remembers his lavish 114th birthday parade. After his death a host of claimants to WOLM title has to fight each other. Among those the uberfraudster how-the-fuck-do-they-still-believe-him Fauja Singh, Japan National Treasure Gisaburo Sonobe (a photo of him does not exist, so may be a nazgul), Brazilian elder Josias de Oliveira and the King of all Life Support Systems Shi Ping.

It's official, John Tinniswood is the oldest man in the world recognized by the GWR, he was an accountant for Shell and BP in his life and retired in 1972, and his diet consists of fish and chips every Friday, he born in Liverpool and lives at The Hollies nursing home in Southport, Merseyside. In the Second World War, Tinniswood's limited vision confined him to an administrative role within the Royal Army Pay Corps. John Tinniswood (1912-Presente) - Página 2 - O Clube 110 (the110club.com)

I simply do not accept this is a war in its purest sense. This is an operation to kill terrorists. I'm seeing no organised army in Palestine which justifies the horrors going on there. The only thing I can draw equivalence to is this. For example, the folk who blew up the London Underground and the London bus on 7 July 2005 were from Leeds and Aylesbury. Now let's assume the British intelligence had evidence that there were other members of a cell in those locations. What would they do? A. Have a special operation to seek out those suspects and bring them to justice. Or B. Bomb the shit out of Leeds and Aylesbury in the hope of killing the suspects associated with the attack. The casualties among civilians and the malnutrition and starvation just are not justified. You send your operatives into the tunnels, you seek out your enemy and keep civilian death to a minimum. Netanyahu's history of course is quite different. He seems quite content with indiscriminate death and destruction which is not being very successful in releasing hostages or targeting terrorists. The hateful talk of right wing settlers in Israel looking forward to having beach front properties in Gaza after this operation feeds this narrative. This Lavender thing is just more evidence of a "don't care who dies" policy.
